Bears do indeed eat acorns. In fact the Florida Black Bear follows the oak tree line in establishing habitat, due to their reliance on acorns as a part of their diet. I have checked numerous websites about both bears and acorns, and all say that bears do indeed eat nuts, including acorns, and that acorns are "a major part of their black bear diet in the Fall." And finally, I have seen bears eating acorns. They prefer our trash with it's tasty human food, but since we make it impossible for them to get at that, which is no small feat, they eat acorns, and tomatoes and other produce from our garden, along with fruit, and small animals such as frogs and lizards. And bears are reputed to like Honey, but they actually love bee and other insect larvae, the honey is just 'icing on the cake'.

Our trash eating neighborhood bear adores ketchup. If someone newbie puts their trash outdoors, and it contains a ketchup bottle, Mr. Bear will chew through the plastic bottle to get at the sweet sticky stuff, and will not leave without finishing every last bit. Twice I have seen our neighborhood bear eating turkey. Once he was bloated from post Thanksgiving day trash scavenging so badly that he refused to be moved from the curb by even honking cars, where he sat with his belly distended while he finished cleaning a turkey carcass from the trash. And once he pushed in our patio screen enclosure to get at a turkey that was thawing in a bucket of water on the lanai. In that case, he sat on the pool steps and chewed on the partially thawed bird until being scared off by our dogs barking, at which point he left a very messy "calling card" in our pool. I have pictures of the scat, and from that the State wildlife agent who visited pointed out the partially digested acorns as well as bird seed he'd stolen from neighborhood bird feeders.

They are both very powerful animals, first, bison have shorter horns, moose for at least have bigger but wider antlers. Even though the bison have horns, the horns are going to be smaller.They are both very interesting animals and both have quite the predatory animals. The bison is taller, stronger and bull bison fight with other bulls to win over a cow ( female bison). The moose can fight too but normally stands its ground ( meaning territory). A bull moose can weigh over one thousand two hundred pounds and the bull bison can be one thousand six hundred pounds and sometimes one ton meaning two thousand pounds. The bison can run speeds up to thirty five miles per hour and the moose can also run speeds of thirty miles per hour. The bison has a better advantage of winning because it is not just bigger, it is stronger. The moose can really fight too and can leave marks on the bison. I am an expert I have been studying these animals ever since i was 7 years old. But the real answer to this question is the bison.

Wild moose typically inhabit mixed deciduous in the temperate or subarctic parts in the northern Hemisphere. Moose are found in large areas of North America, including almost all of Canada, most of central and western Alaska, most of New England, the Rocky Mountains, North-east Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula (Michigan), Isle Royale (Lake Superior). Small population have also been found in the mountainous areas of Colorado. They are browsers, not grazers, and thus can live in such forests since they eat willows and other browse found in coniferous forests. Their long legs are great for stepping over deadfall, hooves for traveling the softer edges of peat bogs when other animals may get stuck or sink and disappear forever. Their long legs also allow them to run from predators like wolves and not be hampered by brush and such.

The female moth releases a pheromone when she is ready to mate that can be detected by male moths up to a mile away. The female moth will only mate with the male that reaches her first.

In a true one on one fight the cougar would always beat the wolverine, the size difference is just too great for skill and tenacity to make any difference. I know that wolverines have chased bears from their kills, but this is only when the bear has eaten all that it wants and now only wants to go lie down and sleep. A stand of cedar trees will offer plenty of shelter from rain and wind and some flies. When the bugs become too bothersome they will enter the water for relief.

It is possible, but of course this depends on the size, age and sex of the moose and the bear, and the species of the bear. A bull moose has strong, large antlers and long sharp hooves (cows only have their hooves to defend themselves with) that could do serious damage to the bear. Most bears, no matter the species, won't mess with an animal that can fight back, especially a moose. However, a bear like a large grizzly or Alaskan brown bear might be able to injure a moose if it was really angry, or large and fearless enough to put up a good fight against such a raging herbivore. A bear would have to claw and bite it's way out of a fight with a moose, but Lord help them if that moose is an angry bull on the rut with those powerful antlers. But as far as a moose being able to kill a bear, such cases may be rare because often either party would wish to run away to save themselves rather than getting killed.
