What is a Chorus in an opera?

As a piece of music, "chorus" would refer to something sung by a large group, perhaps the entire cast, typically including soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. This is in contrast to something sung by a soloist pr maybe two or three voices.

The word "chorus" could also refer to that group of singers.

What opera is la donde mobile from?

"La donna è mobile" ("Woman is fickle") is the cynical Duke of Mantua's canzone from Giuseppe Verdi's opera Rigoletto (1851). The canzone is famous as a showcase for tenors. Raffaele Mirate's performance of the bravura aria at the opera's 1851 premiere was hailed as the highlight of the evening. It has been recorded by Enrico Caruso, Mario Lanza, Plácido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Juan Diego Flórez, Jussi Björling, Vitas and hundreds of others. Before this song's first public performance (in Venice), it was rehearsed under tight secrecy: a necessary precaution, because it proved to be catchy and soon after its first public performance every gondolier in Venice was singing it.

How has composing music become simplified in recent years?

Recently there have been many computer programs which help quite a bit with writing music. Other than that I can't think of any.

^^

I second that, composition software like Sibelius 7 and Finale have made it far easier to compose music but other than that composing hasn't really become easier or simplified, it's still as difficult as ever, musician's compositions haven't really become any simpler either

Did both producers Gamble and Huff lie about Bobby Martin?

I am a big fan of producers Gamble & Huff, however they have both failed to honor or mention the legendary PIR (Philadelphia International Records) arranger and producer Bobby Martin. It's the same pitiful inaccurate story every time Gamble & Huff are Interviewed. They do tell some positive truths about themselves, and then they leave out other main facts about the sound of Philadelphia and Philadelphia International Records. Many celebrities do this sort of upstaging and discrediting in hopes to outshine the other individuals or individual that is being left out of the interview on purpose. The public is often foolish enough to believe whatever they hear in an interview and never question any of it, and the ones interviewing are too lazy to do their research. Well, I'm not too unprofessional or too lazy to do my research, I have plenty of books out on the market to prove that! In fact, Bobby Martin is not the only one who's being neglected and lied about, but he is the most obvious amongst the others that were involved in developing or discovering the sound of Philadelphia. Gamble & Huff haven't given any thanks to the legendary arranger and producer Bobby Martin, they have degraded him. We are being lied to about our American music history and our African American History as well. I tried to contact Bobby Martin to get answers and I couldn't reach him, so then I started to dig up information on my own. I was amazed to find out how many songs Bobby Martin arranged, wrote and produced. Why hasn't anyone from Philadelphia International Records mentioned all of this? I would definitely have to say yes to the question above! Producers Gamble & Huff have lied about Bobby Martin. I had even concluded that Bobby Martin just a session musician, until I heard the songs that he arranged and produced. I found out that Bobby Martin had literally groomed and produced artists in Philadelphia way back in the late 1950s, before Gamble & Huff. Bobby Martin was with Philadelphia International Records from the very beginning as well. He has been producing and arranging hit songs in Philadelphia all along, winning Grammy Awards along the way. Bobby Martin is a real legend on his own, and without Philadelphia International Records. Bobby Martin was there recording in Philadelphia before and after Philadelphia International Records, and in between as well. I am a historian and a music lover that loves soul music. Every time that Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff are interviewed they withhold valuable information from the public, especially when it concerns Bobby Martin. Robert L. Martin (Bobby Martin) was a key player involved in developing The Sound of Philadelphia. Bobby Martin produced and arranged some of their biggest hits, it was not Tom Bell nor Gamble & Huff that arranged Philadelphia International Records biggest hit songs. Once again, I am a big fan of Gamble and Huff, as well as Bobby Martin and Tom Bell. Tom Bell is mentioned and given some credit now and then for his support and contribution to the sound of Philadelphia. Bobby Martin arranged the song named TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia) and he is being outright cheated and lied about, he's never mentioned. Bobby Martins contribution to the sound of Philadelphia may have been greater than anyone's. It's not that Gamble & Huff don't ever tell the truth, it's that they've lied over and over again in interviews by leaving out Bobby Martin.

What do sonata concerto and symphony have in common?

They are all different things, but interlinked. Sonata form can be thought of as more like a building block in the sense that it would generally be used as the structure for one single movement within a larger work - for example, a movement from a concerto or a symphony (this is something concertos and symphonies have in common). Every standard symphony from the classical era onwards will have a first movement written in sonata form, and often the finale (final movement) will also be in sonata form. Concertos from the classical era onwards will also generally have a first movement based on sonata form, although the structure is somewhat different due to the movement obviously being scored for a soloist as well as an orchestra (that is basically the definition of concerto - a work featuring a soloist and orchestra of some description), which means a there will be a double exposition, usually with first the orchestra (tutti) playing at the beginning of the exposition, then the solo instrument.

Of course, I have assumed you mean 'sonata form', rather than the 'sonata' as in a work for one or two instrumentalists, generally with several movements, out of which at least one (but not all) is a sonata form movement, usually the first movement. If you are talking about this meaning of sonata, then it has something in common with the concerto, as both feature a soloist, but a concerto will also feature an orchestra, whereas in a sonata the soloist would perhaps be accompanied by a piano, harpsichord, etc., but certainly not by an orchestra. It also has something in common with the symphony, since they both use sonata form for at least one movement; however, the sonata is quite a different thing to the symphony.

To sum up, it depends which way you look at it. Concertos and symphonies are both multi-movement works which use sonata form for at least one movement, so they have that in common. However, the orchestra in a symphony would generally be quite a bit larger than a concerto, particularly a classical era concerto, as otherwise the soloist would be overpowered. Sonata form ties everything together, but it is different to concertos and symphonies as it is the structure of a single movement, not a multi-movement work, and a sonata has some similarities to the concerto, as outlined above, but few to the symphony.

What are the three components of a key?

Here is the way I see it:

I) How many sharps/flats do I have? You should always find the major key first

II) What mode am I playing in? In other words, what note of the major scale does the song resolve to? Typically speaking, you have either a major key or a minor key but there may be times where the song doesn't resolve to the I (major key) or the vi (minor key) chord/note. This is called a mode. If I'm not in Bb Ionian (major), I'm in C Dorian, D Phrygian, Eb Lydian, F mixolydian, G aeolian (minor), or A Locrian. All of these key signatures have Bb and Eb. However each mode resolves to a different note of the scale
