What is the purpose of the navy seals unit?
I never heard of a mission statement for the SEALs but here is the Navy SEAL creed:
In times of war and uncertainty there is a special breed of Warrior ready to answer our Nation's call.
A common man with uncommon desires forged by adversity he stands alongside America's finest Special Operation Forces to serve his Country, the American people, and protect their Way of Life.
I am that Man!
My Trident is a symbol of honor and heritage bestowed upon me by the Heroes that have gone before and embodies the trust of those I am sworn to protect.
By wearing the Trident I accept the responsibility of my chosen profession and it is a privilege that I must earn every day.
My loyalty to Country and Team is beyond reproach. I humbly serve as a Guardian to my fellow Americans always ready to defend those who are unable to defend themselves. I do not advertise the nature of my work or seek recognition for my actions. I voluntarily accept the inherent hazards of my profession placing the welfare and security of others before my own.
I serve with honor on and off the battlefield. The ability to control my emotions and my actions regardless of circumstances sets me apart from other men. Uncompromising integrity is my standard. My character and honor are steadfast.
My Word is my Bond.
We expect to lead and be lead. In the absence of Orders I will take charge, lead my Teammates, and accomplish the mission. I lead by example in all situations.
I will NEVER Quit!
I persevere and thrive on adversity. My Nation expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than my enemies.
If knocked down I will get back up every time!
I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my Teammates and accomplish the mission.
I am NEVER out of the fight!
We demand discipline. We expect innovation. The lives of my Teammates and the success of our mission depend on me, my technical skill, tactical proficiency, and attention to detail.
My training is NEVER complete!
We train for War and fight to win. I stand ready to bring the full spectrum of combat power to bear in order to achieve my mission and the goals established by my Country. Execution of my duties will be swift and violent when required, yet guided by the principle that I serve to defend.
Brave men have fought and died building the proud tradition and fear of reputation that I am bound to uphold. In the worst of conditions the legacy of my Teammates steadies my resolve and silently guides my every deed.
I will NOT fail!

What is the difference between the us navy and the us airforce navy and vs and airforce branchs?
Well one is the Navy and the other is the Air Force...
Navy= Infantry (Marine Corps), planes (Navy/Marines), ships, Special Warfare (SEALS, SWCC, MARSOC, Force Recon etc.), humanitarian aid (USNS Mercy/Comfort, etc.), and individual augmentees that get attached to Army and Marine units all over the middle east.
Air Force= Planes (Transport, fighter attack, bombers etc.), Special Warfare (AF Security Forces, Para Rescue, TACP etc.)
About a million dollars, including BUDS - you wont find an accurate answer to this question because there are too many variables involved. This is to produce the basic product. Add another 5 or 10 years of constant training and try to calculate. Example, how much does it cost to take a Nuclear Sub out for our training purposes?
Can you go to the US Marines Corps with misdemeanors?
Anything is possible. As long as they're not "serious" or have anything to do with domestic violence you could probably get the waivers needed. However, if you're a tool and they don't think you're worth the trouble of filling out endless sheets of paper for, then forget about it.
How much money do the navy get paid?
Weighted question. Soooo many factors. Do you have spouse/kids? What is your rank/paygrade. Do you have a sign on bonus to factor in? What is the cost of living in your region? All in all it does not amount to much. You get great insurance, retirement benefits, discounts and a sense of pride(unless you are a dirtbag), which can be offset by long hours, off the clock work and time commitment conflicts.
Drill weekends can be from....(grabbing for numbers) 160 - 300 without all the other factors.
When was the navy seals started?
The U.S. Navy SEALs were established by President John F. Kennedy in 1962 as a small, elite maritime military force to conduct Unconventional Warfare. They carry out the types of clandestine, small-unit, high-impact missions that large forces with high-profile platforms (such as ships, tanks, jets and submarines) cannot. SEALs also conduct essential on-the-ground Special Reconnaissance of critical targets for imminent strikes by larger conventional forces.
The Navy Seals cross train with the British S.A.S (Special Air Service).Navy seals are basically the same as the British S.A.S except the British S.A.S were around over 20yrs beforehand, so they train together and remain good allies.

Well the first person was wrong. There is one female Q Course Qualified Green Beret. She graduated with the class and was awarded the Green Beret patch " Special Forces " but soon after left the Special Operations Command and got in trouble in the military and left the military completely to promote her status as the first woman in the US Special Operations Command as an Green Beret.

There are a few ways to get selected for Delta training. They send out Army-wide advertisements twice a year and you can respond to those. They can personally send someone to recruit you if you have a skill they need, such as a rare language. Most Delta recruits are Ranger and Special Forces veterans with several years of experience. If you are deadset on getting into Delta, then join the Army, be the best in your basic training class, join the Rangers or Special Forces, and work to be the best in your selection and training classes. After a good amount of time in those units, then you might be able to go to Delta selection. Most Delta shooters are in their early to mid-thirties, with years of special operations experience under their belt.

What is the best rate in the us navy?
Though the paygrade is the same (E-1), the recruit's general career path determines which recruit rate they are initially assigned:
Engineering Rates (e.g., Machinist's Mate) - Fireman Recruit (FR) - 1 Red Stripe
Aviation Rates (e.g., Aviation Ordnance) - Airman Recruit (AR) - 1 Green Stripe
All others or non-designated careers - Seaman Recruit (SR) - 1 White Stripe
The Seaman, Fireman, or Airman designation stays with the sailor until such time as they're promoted to Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4), at which point a career rate has been chosen, and their rate designation is shown on their Rank/Rate patch. The stripe colors are used to denote the area the sailor is striking in (working toward), or has chosen for a full career path later.
As an example, when I first joined, I was a Seaman Recruit, having chosen Submarine Sonar as my career path. Since I was also in an accelerated career path, I left BT as a Seaman, and was promoted to 3rd Class after finishing Basic Sonar school, at which point my rank/rate was Sonar Technician (Submarines) 3rd Class.

Seal units or teams generally range from 4 to 8 people, always in twos.

How long is green beret training?
There are phases of training, the firs is Special Forces Assesment and Selection (SFAS) which last 3 weeks more commonly known as hell weeks. this is the try out to be even considered. if you survive this then next phase is Special Forces Qualifications Course (SFQC) which is the basic SF training, here you learn small units tactics unconventional warfare etc. after this depending on your SF job you are sent to and individual school to learn your specific job within the SF units. other schools and training such as SERE Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape school and LRRP Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol school will also need to be passed. at some point in your training you must learn at least another language as well because you will spend a lot of time with foreign people to train. overall the whole training process is like 2 years. being a top special forces soldier isn't obtainable in a 2 week course my friend.... it is a long a tedious task. hope I helped!
Why can't Marine Force Recon become SEALs?
Navy and Marine SpecOps forces personnel are dedicated to their respective branches; the biggest exceptions are aviation (Naval and Marine Corps aviators fly off of Navy carriers) and Navy Corpsmen, who serve as combat medics for the Marines. The Navy also provides the Chaplains, Doctors, Dentists and JAG officers for the Marine Corps. The only combat trained officers from the Navy that serve with the Marines are those assigned as NGLOs, Naval Gunfire Liaison Officers that work with the Marines in coordinating Naval Gunfire support to the Marine forces. The only other Sailors who train with the Marines are the Navy's SeaBees, who must complete Marine Corps Basic Infantry training.
Their respective missions are also different; where Force Recon is first and foremost an advance scouting/recon unit deep inside enemy territory (ahead of invasion or larger forces), the SEAL's are geared more toward active combat behind enemy lines, as well as providing support to other government agencies (e.g., CIA, NSA).
That doesn't mean that they don't work together; they do. But their respective training is much different.
Of course a Marine can always leave the Corps and become a sailor and try to become a SEAL and vice-versa, but the likelihood of that happening is slim to none, and slim's out of town. Once you achieve the rank, respect, and honor that the hard work and training has given you by being selected, you don't want to leave.

3 weeks for Indoc (Indoctrination)
24 weeks for BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) training in Coronado, California
5 weeks for Parachute training in San Diego, California
16 weeks of SQT (SEAL Qualification Training)
It takes roughly around two years of training before a Navy SEAL actually goes into combat.
Can a soldier in the US marine corps switch to be a united states navy seal?
Any U.S. Serviceman can become a SEAL, as long as the educational, physical, and madical requirements are met. In the case of a Marine first said marine would have to serve his obligated contract with USMC, or get a waiver and sign new contract of enlistment with the navy. Just talk to your career counsellor and get guidance on proper course of action. But the answer to the question is, YES a Marine can become a Navy SEAL, there are just a few more steps to climb. In any case if being a SEAL is the goal then that person will find a way. I know several former Marines that are in the teams now.
