Navy SEALS is a part of Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC) and the maritime component of the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Its acronym ‘SEAL’ is derived from the capability to operate at sea, in the air and on the land, but its ability to work underwater makes them unique.

The NFL could draft you, but they would have to wait for you. But they couldn't sign you to a contract until you get out of the military. After the military service obligation is up, then you could play. The NBA had this issue as well.
Who is better in recon Navy or Marines on land?
Considering that the marines are always the first to respond, they may be considered better in recon then the navy in general. However, the navy SEAL's may be considered better than the marines in genreal since the SEAL's are special ops.

Delta force, officailly known as "1st special forces operational detachment delta" is a tier one special operations unit, they take on the most difficult, and sensitive assingments the U.S. Army runs into, or creates. All Delta force opratives are highly trained, and are coursed in advanced driving, sharp shooting, advanced sniping, advanced hand to hand combat, free running, explosive ordnace desposal and retrival, evasion, escape, and survivail trianing, and much much more, they practice surgical and spontanious raids with live ammunition to build trust and comfort with one another, and are taught how to make powerfull explosive, and balistic devices out of everday objects and materials.
A task force is a temporary unit or team (often comprised of operators from several different units including Delta force, and its Navy and Air force counter parts: DEVGRU, and the 24th special tactics squadron) that is formed to focus on a specific task (usually huning down and killing a specific individual), once that task is completed, the task focre is dissolved and the operators go back to theirs respective units. Most task forces that are comprised of tier one operators are totally classified and are never publicly referd to, but there are a few currently active ones that you can find a suprising amount of information on, one of them being task force 121, which operates in Iraq and Afganistan, you see, the U.S. usaully does'nt mind admitting to killing terrorists.
It's hard to say whats better, a task force, or Delta force. Delta force is probbably going have more operators than a task force, but the task force is going to have operators from all kinds of different units, which could be a nice feture (why send in teir one guys to stop a convoy when you have some Army Rangers in your tool box.). And a task force is going to be able to develop a much better network of awearness over a certin theater of war becuase it is constaintly getting heads ups, tips, leads, and all sorts of information from the Navy, Army, Airforce, CIA, NSA, and other military branches and intellagence orginizations from Britian, Canada, New zealand, Australia, ect. Delta force would'nt have that scale of "information share" their main source is the Army's intellagence department.

A GM in the U.S. Navy is a Gunner's Mate, one of the oldest rates in the Navy, being one of the original 3 rates created in 1797. Boatswain's Mate and (BM) and Master-at Arms (MA) were the other 2.
The GM rate is primarily aboard surface vessels and shore stations. Aboard ship, they're responsible for anything to do with naval guns and missile systems, as well as small arms. Many are skilled armorers and gunsmiths as well, and maintain the Navy's small arms ammunition depots as well as run their Weapons Qualifications Ranges.
Bottom line - if you like to shoot and handle weapons but don't like getting shot at, this is the rate.

If you're active duty, it'll depend on your recovery, and whether or not you can return to your job. If you can't, usually they'll give you the option of changing rates, or moving to a shore command, unless it's bad enough you can't work. Remember that double amputees have returned to active duty - it isn't like it once was years ago.

Any allergic response that triggers a moderate or severe reaction to foods, additives, etc., as well as someone who has a history of anaphylactic reactions to insect stings, is automatically disqualified from serving in any branch of the military.
