Navy SEALs

Navy SEALS is a part of Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC) and the maritime component of the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Its acronym ‘SEAL’ is derived from the capability to operate at sea, in the air and on the land, but its ability to work underwater makes them unique.

Are army green beret better than navy seals?

Are you serious? Marines vs Green Beret even if you said marine recon that would still be a silly question. Now in todays military the marines have there own special forces program that is mirrored after the green berets because the marines where loosing there best men to the seals so they started there own program. but, it is new and still in the working out the kinks stage but, in a decade we can compare but, they are still to young to put it in a sf, seal, delta category.

Why is the special forces beret green?

Around WW2, select US Army Rangers and OSS operatives were taken over to the UK to complete the British commando course. Upon completion, they were issued the green beret. After the war, these soldiers then went on to become the first members of the newly formed Army Special Forces. They kept the British green berets as a sign of pride, but they were not sanctioned for wear by the Army. President Kennedy saw an exhibition by them and was very impressed, officially authorizing the beret to wear by US Special Forces only. The Army then took a Canadian beret design and created new US Army green berets for the Special Forces soldiers. There's more information on this on the US Army Special Forces Wikipedia page.

Can you join the navy if you had a stroke?

It depends on the extent of the surgery and underlying reason, but usually not. Fusions are automatic disqualifiers, and any invasive surgery is usually to correct an injury or underlying disease. Those alone are usually enough to disqualify you.

Even if it isn't, the current recruiting climate favors the military rather than the recruit. During economic bad times, the military and civil service are the first places people turn to because they're secure jobs. Retention is high, and since there are so many recruits, the military can pick and choose the best candidates. Anyone with a problem isn't going to be on the top rung of choices.

While there are waivers for anything in the military, when dealing with medical matters the person has to have some background or knowledge skill that places him/her above all other prospects for the Navy to go against set regulations, and even then the skill has to be in an area where the medical problem won't likely be a factor. There are few jobs in the Navy where your back isn't strained. My own Navy career helped degenerate my back faster than it would've normally.

Why divers wear special suits when they go deep sea?

for protection, as astronauts need to wear space suits to do space walks. Humans are fragile beings. Our skeletons and bone structure can only work in a narrow range of pressure around the atmospheric pressure [~1x105 Pa at sea level] -- we have adapted to earth's atmosphere. In deep seas, the human body will encounter a pressure [Pa], in addition to atmospheric pressure, equals to rho*g*h, where rho = water density [~ 1000 kg/m3]; g = 9.8 [m/s2]; and h is the water depth [m].

What is harder navy seals or marines recon?

Both jobs are extremely demanding. One person who qualifies as a SEAL might consider a Marine recon unit to be tougher, yet would always consider themselves the best. The Marine recon team would also feel the same way. Such pride is expected in their teams and expected. As to fact, it depends on the situation, as their training is different (with overlaps of course).
