What education or training is required to become a lawyer?

Becoming a lawyer is a very intensive process. A lawyer must have three to four years of undergraduate work to earn a BA or BS degree, which depends upon his or her major. This is known as a pre-law degree. Almost any major is acceptable, but many students choose political science, criminal justice, a social science, or a combination. Some universities also offer pre-law courses. A student must also have a high GPA to be considered first among applicants.

Once the student has received an undergraduate degree s/he must take the law-school-admissions test (LSAT) before s/he can apply to a law school. Some universities require the student to achieve a minimum score (120) on the LSAT before considering admission. The LSAT does not include law-related questions but focuses upon reasoning (both analytical and logical) and reading comprehension.

In addition to high GPAs and LSAT scores, law schools typically require admission essays that demonstrate desire and creativity. Another consideration that is high on the list is the applicant's level of community involvement.

Law school* generally requires three to four years of study, although choosing to practice in certain areas can add another year to one's studies. Upon graduation, the student will have earned a Juris Doctorate or a Doctorate of Jurisprudence, according to the term that the school uses. The abbreviation for either is JD.

The graduate will be required to take the American Bar Association (ABA) examination to become licensed to practice law. Once the student receives his or her license and decides upon a practice area, s/he will be interviewed by the law-examiners board in the state in which s/he chooses to practice. The cost to become a lawyer depends upon the requirements of each school and ranges from $150,000 to over $200,000.

Entry into the bar depends on each state's bar association*, which sets the requirements for practice in that state. In some states, graduation from the state law school gets qualifies the applicant for automatic entry. In most states, the applicant must pass the bar exam, which is typically two or three days long. Conversely, the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) takes one day and has 200 multiple-choice questions. Many states require that the applicant pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE).

*Some states do not require that applicants have law degrees before taking the bar exam. Also, some law schools will allow entrance without a completed bachelor's degree, but the exceptions are becoming very rare.

How many credits do you need to pass ncea level 2 math?

How do you mean? You don't pass subject by subject.. In total you must have 80 NCEA level 2 or higher credits to pass the year. English is the only subject in which you need a specific amount of credits (8, but speeches don't count towards this) to gain University Entrance, which are the literary credits, 4 reading and 4 writing. In level 1 however, 8 math credits are needed to gain UE.

What education and training is required to become a lawyer?

After obtaining a bachelor's degree, you would apply to a law school for a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. This degree would take 3 to 4 years, depending on whether you go full time. Finally, you have to pass the Bar Exam for your state in order to practice law.

Education and training. Becoming a lawyer usually takes 7 years of full-time study after high school-4 years of undergraduate study, followed by 3 years of law school. Law school applicants must have a bachelor's degree to qualify for admission. To meet the needs of students who can attend only part time, a number of law schools have night or part-time divisions.

To qualify for the bar examination in most States, an applicant must earn a college degree and graduate from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) or the proper State authorities.

Does New Zealand have Long service leave entitlements?

no

Further to the 'no' posted:

Individual employment contracts may include clauses with entitlement to long service leave. It is not part of the current legal entitlement except 3 weeks holiday after 12 months continuous work on salary or wages; unless holiday pay is built into the pay rate as an additional percentage to allow exceptions, this is not unusual for temporary workers. I suggest you refer to NZ labour department on the government website for actual minimums for leave allowances.

What is the poorest school in New Zealand?

Wellington College

Location: Rugby Street,

Basin Reserve,

Wellington,

New Zealand

All NewZealand school's have government support. I would think that there are worse schools out there that are poorer than Wellington College, but I've never been to that school. I would think that rural schools would be worse off, as money comes from the students and their fee's. A school south of where I live only has 7students and one teacher and has been walking on ice for a while now.

Qualifications needed to be a psychologist?

You will need to complete an undergraduate degree in which you major in Psychology. You will follow a set module pathway through your degree in order to qualify for registration of the Psychological regulatory body for your country (British or American Psychological Society).

During your first degree you will need to look for suitable work experience in order to rack up the amount you will need in order to get onto a masters.

After completing your first degree with first class honours (it is almost impossible to go any further in Psychology with anything less), a masters is required.

Once you complete graduate school (masters), a doctorate is required.

You will need substantial work experience, although if you intend to work in any healthcare field, your doctorate will usually entail a one year internship in a suitable area of practise. You will also need dedication and motivation. Psychological training on average takes 7 - 10 years, and the very highest standards are required.

It is possible to complete professional training through a specialist academies instead of university, but this is increasingly expensive. If you choose this path, ensure that the final qualification is accredited with the regulatory body for your country.

There are links below to websites which detail the qualifications related to Psychology for both the US and UK.
