I suppose , if you haven't reached the end of the 1/4 mile strip and have already REDLINED your tach in the previous gear , you would have no choice but to shift into overdrive =)

What kind of transmission is best for drag racing?

What engine builder builds the best SB2.2 headed engines for drag race use?

Ok. The SB-2, is what they just quit running in NASCAR. (They just went to the RO7. Now, I know that drag racing, and circle track hardly ever cross paths, however, this is one time I would suggest that you cross over. All of GM's technology went into those for NASCAR purposes. And, Rick Hendrick, and Richard Childress, both have the best backing from GM, and both spend lots of money of R&D. And, since they are no longer running those heads, they may have some sitting around, that would be junk to them. They both sell race motors, as well. One of their race motors complete, would work great on a drag strip. I would also try to get an intake manifold, to match the heads. If that wont work for you, I would try to find a company called Airflow Research. I don't even know if they are still even around, but, they used to make the best heads, for small blocks. Personally, I run DART, or currently called World Products, I think. Those heads flow really good, even stock, so personally, I would not spend a ton of money on a set. There used to be a video on the net, with some guys, and a 5.3, in a pickup, with an added turbo, and a few other changes, but, basically stock motor. They have the truck on a dyno, and on film, with a stock motor, spin that thing over 7000rpms, and achieve OVER 600 hp. That tells me that there probably is not a whole lot of reworking needing to be done.

Can you get a fine for drag racing on an interstate?

YES. And endanger innocent people, lose your license, go to jail, and in some states they will even take, and KEEP your ride. I know of an instance where two guys were street racing. One lost control, hit a wall, and died. The other driver was charged, and convicted, of mansalaughter. KEEP IT ON THE DRAG STRIP........Chuck........

How can Drag Racing affect the human body?

the only affect it has had on me is a hard on from the imense horsepower. but some people have died and others lost their eyesite do to an extreme fluctuation in the g-forces when the chutes open. Remember Joe Amato? He was one of the best Top Fuel drivers...until he suddenly--in the middle of the season--quit driving for good. His doctor told him they couldn't weld his retinas back in any more.

Why was willam kicked off of ru paul's drag race?

It is simple. Yes there is alcohol provided, but there is a limit ther are allowed to drink. No, they aren't doing drugs. Willam is not a biological female, nor is he a transsexual. Watch the episode again... Willam put his health at risk by wearing a corset that was too tight.

Corsets displace the internal organs making the stomach reject anything that one puts into it. Willam also had a difficult time speaking, his diaphragm was compressed.

The show contract stipulates that a contestant cannot and must not put their health at risk to win.

What is back half on a drag racing car?

That would be in referance to the rear sub frame. It would mean that the rear frame3 rails have been removed, and replaced with tube steele. They also would have move them closer together, and put in larger wheel well tubs. This would allow for a large width tire to tuck under the fender. And then there is usually a coil over shock type suspension, with a four link system, or laddr bars. A lot of other things are needed now, as well. Fuel cell, aluminum floor pan, roll cage, frame connectors, ect. All in all, it is a lot of work, or a lot of money, either way. And, makes the car much less streetable. Race car stuff, only.

What is a Drag race hole shot and why do they call it that?

A Drag Race hole shot is when the driver only loses because of their reaction time. It is usually because the driver gets a bad reaction time and they lose by that much time. Its the worst way to lose other then to crash.

And I do not know why they call it that. You would have to ask the person who came up with the term. Sorry.

On a Junior Dragster what is an easy way to get the belt off after your run?

Well it really depends on what type of belt you have and how easy it is to access it. But the way that I do it is to pull to the side of the return road and turn off my J/D and slide my had on the clip to unlatch my belts then take off my helmet, neck brace and gloves. Then you just get someone to tow you back

I think the question is asking the drive belt not the seat belt.

Ok thinking of what I do...

Umm... I pull the belt off the clutch and roll the junior backwards. To tell that it comes off mine makes a "ting" sound. To put it back on do the opposite.
