I just got out of detox a couple weeks ago for heroin addiction. They gave me methocarbamol when I was in crisis stabilization (before you are admitted to the medical detox), and it seemed to help with some of the discomfort from the withdrawals. Don't get me wrong, it didn't completely alleviate my symptoms, but definitely made a slight impact to make it more tolerable.

After I was discharged, my doctor put me on 1500mg a day to help with the post-acute withdrawals. It definitely helps with the minor aches and pains. But I also experienced an extreme lack of energy, and the methocarbamol definitely added to that listlessness. I've since been supplementing with a B-complex vitamin to help with my energy levels.

So the short answer to your question is: yes, methocarbamol is used for opiate withdrawal.

It usually takes 20 minutes to a half hour for medicine to work, but some medicine takes more time then others. Tramadol, for example, can take 50-55 minutes to really get rolling in the blood stream, but will usually last six hours.

There is a web site that claims this, but I have found no reason to believe it will test you clean. Here's what happens.

I believe that they start with sweating, then goosebumps so to speak, then after a while it starts to get to the point where you feel like vomiting, and get severe body aches. Once that physical part is over your not totally in the clear, then you have depression and urge to use again depending on how long you have used and your personality (addictive personality)

The Lidocaine patch will float off your body and get sucked up in the pool's filtration system. Since these patches are pricey, you may want to time your swimming during the patch-off periods or remove the patch temporarily and replace it on the sheet of clear plastic to which it is attached when you first open it....bring the packaging with you. Skin has to be clean and dry...no chlorine or salty water residue either....before re-applying the patch again. You are not supposed to re-apply them, but it is possible...just be mindful of the "12 hours off and 12 hours on" rule. Some patients use medical tape to keep the patch securely on the skin after re-applying.
