I take 2x 5mg endones twice a day for break through pain and take oxycontin 30 mg twice daily and I am also prescribed 2mgx2 xanax pills a day and also am prescribed valium 5mgx2 twice a day for muscle so to answer your stupid question endone and oxycontin both have the same active ingredient called oxycodone and oxycodone isnt even morphine and wont mask any thing lmao

Your stepson's body is used to the very strong drug and needs help to stop use. He must want the help first oxy cotton is very strong and not ment for long time use . i would try to talk to him . He can not get off them by him self . A treatment center can offer help in every aspect of the withdrawl of the drug.

I myself was an addict with what your speaking of. I have a family ,husband and 2 sons ...whom I love a great deal. I didn't have insurance but, as soon as we got it I checked into a nice rehab and walked out being prescribed a new medication that very few Dr,s can prescribe ....It's called SUBOXONE and it does have opiate in it but also has Nueron blockers to make the neurons in your brain believe they are being fed. Maybe in the beginning this medication can act like what he's been taking but, if he really wants to stop .....this drug is a great break through ...I am currently still on it but, am functioning 20x better than when I was using . It depends on what he wants also. Is he ready to quit? Methadone is not the answer as my father has been on it for 30 yrs now and it 's extremely dangerous suboxone can be to, as he will have to slowly detox off of it but , he may need time on this medication. If he were to be on the suboxone ...they will tell you that if for any reasn he were to end up in an accident where they would need to prescribe pain medication,they need to know that he takes suboxone as they would have to use more painkillers to over throw the suboxone. I think it's a great medication and I recommend it to anyone who is struggling w/ this type of addiction . If he truly loves his family ...he will take that step .

Here's the deal you can walk into rehab and be detoxed but you can also walk in and say look I don't think I'll stay clean when I leave ...that is where this drug would come into play. Again it is meant to make your brain believe it's getting what it wants and I was told short term use of it is 3 -6 mos and long term use would be 2 -3 yrs. Heck of a lot beter than Methadone! methadone is roughly 35 times stronger than oxycodone/morphine in equal doses but works very diffrently to perocet/oxycodone & most other opiate/opiod narcotic analgesics in that in methadone whilst being a v potent analgesic it does not produce a high/euphoric effect assoc' with perocet etc whatsoever hence the reason of its use in UK for treatment of heroin abuse.it allows the addict to replace 1 for the other with no pleasure like effect using meth'.perocet is by far the better of the 2 for chronic/long term pain relief as the narcotic effect present in perocet etc is a far more effective in pain relief, has fewer nastyside effects and is by far the safer & better choice

A rash is one of the side effects, but I'd think about any other drugs you might be taking before suspecting that one, unless it's the only one you're taking. If you're taking any kind of antibiotic as well, that would be the more likely culprit, even if you've never had allergic reactions to it before.

The only way to tell if it's the OxyContin is to stop taking it for a day or two and see ifthe rash starts to dissipate.

from what i understand methadone blocks the effects of percocet anyway so whats the use in taking it?? as far as co q-10 that im not sure about.

It depends on your tolerance and the dosage.

I have been taking 10 mg of Ambien for sleep for 10 years and have built up a tolerance. My doctor added .5 mg of Xanax but I have started to build a tolerance for that combo, too. I sometimes add 10 mg of Oxycontin and it does help me to sleep. But I don't like the withdrawl from Oxycontin so I don't take it very often at all.

I think there's a fine line between what a person can tolerate and insomnia can be a vicious cycle. Just look what happened to Michael Jackson. I am scheduled for a "sleep study" to get to the bottom of my insomnia because I can't continue to take these meds forever.

Not a good idea. Both Percocet and Vicodin contain opiates and you will risk overdosing if you mix both. Percocet contains oxycodone and Vicodin contains hydrocodone. There are different dosages of each but in general it is not good to mix. For people taking it for recreational use, it will not increase your "high". Opiates can cause shorteness of breathe and/or tachycardia. Mixing could cause serious injury or be fatal.

Where I am from you can EASILY get $8 to $9 on dry spells and no lower than $6-$7 another day.

I guess it depends on where you are from.The doctors in Va are tight about percs now.I am on pain managment and only get 20 for 10 days with cancer pain.

It is best not to take expired medication. The medication does expire and will not work properly if taken after the date of expiration. ( If it works at all. ) Your best bet is to go to a local drug sore and get you a new package that satisfies you and be sure to check the expiration date.

Medication must be at least 90% effective at its expiration date and cannot degrade forming any harmful compounds. Also many meds are stable beyond the standard 2 year exp. date, its just not worth the expense for a company to continue testing it.

So generally an expired med should not hurt you, it just may not work.

Don't know if they still make them but they used to have a blue oblong oxycontin 160mg! I got a script for them once when I had duel hip replacements.
