Oxycontin produces exactly the opiate effect, no opiate-like about it. it is used recreationally to provide the high achieved thru heroin use, although is not as powerful unless used in high doses. when heroin enters the blood stream it is converted to morphene, and oxycodone is synthesized from morphene so they are extremely simelar.

Depends, snort it, (I do not advise) within a few minutes. Can last up to 6+ hours. Take it like your supposed to, within 15-20 minutes and can last up to 8-12+ hours.

Long term opiate use is known to cause dental problems, though I've never been able to get a straight answer from doctor or dentist as to why. It's believed that it's due to the opiate's effect on the saliva (dry mouth), which in turn alters the natural protection it gives to the teeth. Though I've been a high-dose, long term opiate patient for many years, it only took about 3 years for enough damage to happen to my upper teeth (between canines) that it required them all to have root canals and crowns. The softening damage to the tooth enamel was evident (it can be seen near the gums as a whitish area).

Recently, the product ACT has come out with an additive in their regular fluoride rinse that contains an enamel-strengthening agent. Other manufacturers have followed suit.

The other thing to consider is that most people (myself included) who are long-term opiate users are usually chronic pain patients, and as such spend a good deal of time in bed. That means there are days you just don't feel like doing the twice daily brushing routine, so that can have an effect as well.

i take 320mg of oxycontin daily for chronic pain, such as rheumatoid arthriris, fibromyalga, herniated discs, and several other problems. I had bloodwork done 2 weeks ago and my WBC was 18.6. when i asked my dr. why it was so high, he replied that it was because of the oxycontin. Is this true?

On perks (i took 20mg of perks which were two ten mg bananas) I got high after 12 to 15 hours. Oxys however took way longer to work after subs. I would say to wait at least 24 hours...but at that point I don't think I got the full effects of it. To get all your moneys worth I would wait as long as you possibly can...which I know is hard and piss poor advice to give to someone who is dying to take that oxy bc you know exactly what a nice little mental vacation it is and its in your possession already. Do yourself a favor to try and make yourself wait on it. Hide it in your parents room somewhere good so that you cant just run and get it whenever you want...you have to wait til the timing is right which will prob take you enough time for the subs to run out of your system. Short answer bare minimum 24 hours, and 48 hours for true effects. Long scientific answer:

As stated above 24 hours is bare minimum to wait before taking OC if you want the OC to do anything at all. Really I think another 12 to 24 hours is needed to get a real good effect. Suboxone especially the way ur taking it all 8mg at once is made to last (prevent craving and withdrawl) for 24 hours. This is the effect of the Buprenorphine the naloxone is what prevents the Oxy from working. The naloxone binds to the opiate receptors better than any other opiate. What this causes is you to only be able to get a limited high off of suboxone which binds to receptors better than vicadin, oxy, and herroin, and not off of these other drugs and not a very strong high even from taking large quantities of suboxone. Now we know that Buprenorphine last 24 hours because that is how long we can go before the craving and withdrawl starts so it is safe to assume that some suboxone is still bound to the receptors after about 20 hours and that approaching 24 hours there is very little still bound to the recpetors. So you think okay now I can dose with a different drug, wrong!! The naloxe binds better than the Buprenorphine so some is still bound to the receptors and the problem with it is that it binds so much better than other drugs that if you take them they will have little chance competing with the naloxone and you will get a very small high at best. At this time it is actually better to suboxone if you must because the Buprenorphine is strong enough in binding power to get in where other drugs couldn't. So long story short it is hard to know how long naloxone last, but in my experience you need about 48 hours for the naloxone to wear off and for you to be able to take OC and get full awesome effect.

I have been looking into this. It doesn't seem anyone feels there are health risks. I can tell you this: Wellbutrin does not get along with any other drug. It seems like anything that disrupts the workings of Wellbutrin is spoiled by it. It is a very jealous drug, and that's why it helps with nicotine addiction. I have always been very adventerous with substances. I have not found anything that agrees with Wellbutrin. You will be hard pressed to devise a combo I haven't already attempted. Again, I can't speak medically on this, but your enjoyment will be affected. As for actual pain relief, it helps. I broke my ankle and was on Norcos for months. But, you will deal with the conflicts I speak of. Basically, Wellbutrin will amplify the negative aspects of any chemical experience. With Hydrocodone, this means increased irritability, depression, etc. That is my observation, after 11 years on/off with Wellbutrin - added to a very stubborn taste for altered states.

Oxycontin and Oxycodone are the same thing. Oxycontin is made from Oxycodone. Oxycontin is time released so it continuously release the medicine and oxycodone is not time released. It depends on how much of each you take. Say if you take a 40 MG Oxycontin pill and and 4 Oxycodone 10/325, you feel the effects of the 4 oxycodone pills because the Oxycontin time released but they are the same thing. Whichever one you take more MG of will be stronger.

You need to see a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment if you are in large amounts of pain! The main issue from missing the vein is the pill binders/fillers are harder to remove from the tissue than the water and the drug (water soluble things just get absorbed by your body). It will most likely go back to normal within a week.

All that will happen is it will hurt and you will get a huge knot and it will be sore but it will go down within a day or two. You dont need to go to the hospital or anything it will slowly go down on its own.

A test will show positive for Oxycontin whether you eat it, snort it or inject it. Sniffing won't change anything. BUT, if you're asking because it's been prescribed to you and you want to take the intranasal route instead, the test won't show that you've snorted it, and they can't discriminate against you for taking your prescribed medication.

If it's prescribed to you and you sniff it it'll show the same positive it would if you eat it.

Only way to beat a test, is to not ingest.
