Rumors of tigers, running loose in central and south America is nothing new. the rumors seem to stem from released animals kept by drug cartels. How real these animals actually are is unknown. Certainly tigers could adapt to the jungles of the area, but they would have to have been released in sufficient numbers in order to establish a breeding population. So a colonization of the area is highly unlikely in the extreme.
