Also make sure you have one parakeet and no toys with mirrors or just plain mirrors or it will spend all it's time talking in bird to its "buddy" and not to you. (they also like words with the sounds of "k" and "t" in then as they are much easier to pronounce for a bird. plain old hello is too hard.)

Usually when they sit on the bottom they are sick. If she's "fat" she may not be getting the right food or enough exercise. She might have a serious respiratory illness. Maybe she just looks fat because her feathers are all fluffed up. If she's laying an egg you can pick her up and feel it underneath by her tail. Sometimes birds get "egg bound" and need help passing an egg. Normally a bird lays an egg in the place she's chosen to keep it safe. She'll go back there when it's time to lay the next one. When she's done with that batch or "clutch" of eggs she'll start to sit on them. Usually there needs to be a male around to get her working on eggs in the first place. Birds should always be loved and fed well but when they lay they need extra protein. If you have a bird that is laying eggs, fertile or not, they need extra protein. Do more research on line and make sure she gets what she needs.

A group of wild budgies is called a flock.

You can make a little coffin for it and surround it with decorative stuff like flowers, and painting the coffin and much more stuff, Also put the coffin in a secluded place where you know other people like younger children wont be. Make sure its a nice peaceful, safe place. You can also half bury the coffin so hard winds wont blow it away you can cover the coffin with grass and stuff to make sure it partially hidden. =) If you dont truely love your parakeet then i guess u could just wrap it in some toilet paper and dig a hole and put it in there, but im guessing most of all of you love your parakeets and im guessing most of you are wondering what to make the coffin out of. I would use card board or whatever else you would think would be hard enough to use as a coffin. I hope this works out for you!
