They are said to be clairvoyant. They can be referred to as a spiritual medium, a medium, a telepathy, a psychic, a spiritualist, or a channel or channeler.

There are, a variety of rituals and practices against shadow people in other mystical traditions (mostly wiccan derived) which do believe in shadow people.

It depends! Sometimes odors can signal the presence of paranormal activity--I usually smell carnations or cigars. However, you MUST rule out all possibilities of it being an explainable odor. To develop your ability at extrasensory perception (ESP) you first need to be able to control and suppress your other senses and calm your body functions so that you can increase your concentration on input to your brain from other avenues besides sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch. This can be done with biofeedback and/or sensory deprivation, until you can use meditation to suppress them on your own.

Sensory deprivation, for instance, has the user float naked in a tank of supersaturated salt water (for maximum buoyancy) that is kept at body temperature. This removes your sense of touch. The tank is sealed shut with the air circulated, also kept at body temperature and filtered to remove smells. Also the tank is light and sound proof so it eliminates sight smell and hearing. Now that your senses are gone, spend as much time in the tank as you can concentrating on "reaching out" with your mind. Also let your body remember how it feels (or doesn't) without any senses. You want to get used to this so that you can re-create this state out of the tank just by meditating on your body's memory of this.

Once you feel you are as good as you can get with the above then get or make a set of Psychic flash cards. They are about 6" by 10" posterboard, white on one side with the pictures of a square, a triangle, a circle, a cross, and a set of 3 wavy parallel lines on the other. Your "subject" holds the cards with the pictures facing them and the blank side facing you. Ask them to concentrate on each picture as they move from one card to the next. You, once in your meditative state, must concentrate on the picture they have formed in their mind. You tell them what you "see" and they write down whether it's right or not.

Just guessing randomly you have a 25% chance of getting any one card correct. If you are getting anything over 5 cards correct in a set of 20, that shows increased ESP. Keep practicing!

Nothing. Whether it be astral projection or a true O.B.E, there is no reason to believe that anything is able to "kill" or even injure the astral self during one of these states. If you experienced a death scenario, you were probably experiencing a lucid dream and not a true O.B.E, and despite the myth, you don't die just because you die in a dream.

Demons are mainly a part of Religion. In most religions, it stands that demons are not tangible, but can lead you to bad choices that spoil your relation with a deity. So the existence of demons is controversial, but I think it is safe that they will do you no physical harm.

Ghosts, are another story. Many people report seeing ghosts, but the existence has never been confirmed. Some stories end up with the witness being shoved on the floor, or grabbed harshly. Chances are, you will never encounter a ghost though.

Yes it could be. If this happens again ask Jesus to help you. If you are sincere the figure will leave. I promise. In every documented case of spirits scaring/hurting poeple and the person called out to Jesus the spirit left. It is a christian site and will tell how to deal with what your going through. Remember Jesus saves.

I don't think there is any firm evidence that such a "psychic energy" even exists.

There are two main ways of which I am aware.

One is to use ki to protect yourself from blows - you extend it out from your body as a sort of shell. Properly done this can minimize the effects of being hit.

The other is to extend your ki as you move, either in striking or in withdrawing. Properly done this can add to your effectiveness in striking. In Aikido I am told (I have no training in Aikido) that you can also blend your ki with that of your opponent's, thus redirecting his energies in such a way as to render them ineffective.

In order to use ki, you need to spend many years learning the techniques from a competent teacher. It's not something you can pick up in a few weeks (or years). You also need to practice daily in order to maintain your ability.

Years ago there was a reported haunting at a Toys R Us store in the Midwest. In a picture taken of a group late one night in the store, a young man is seen standing in the background who was not part of the group. It is believed this is an image of the purported ghost. And that young man was wearing bell bottom blue jeans. So yes, purportedly ghosts have been seen wearing bell bottoms.

Several occupants and tenants have experienced or seen unexplained things there in recent years, one moved out because she was scared and had seen things including an apparition, but most of the time nothing happens, and most of the haunting phenomena happened from 1950s to 1960s. There seems to be an underlying assumption in this question. Wikipeda defines "pseudo-scientific" as:

The real question here may relate to Parapsychology research and its status as a science. Parapsychology is the scientific study of psi phenomena and abilities including Extra Sensory Perception and Psychokinesis as well as Exceptional Experiences such as Out-of-Body and Near-Death Experiences. The methods, protocols, experimental designs and analytical techniques used in Parapsychology fully conform to scientici method. Parapsychology is therefore not a pseudoscience.

It is a mistake to presume that Parapsychology includes things such as UFO, Big Foot or other anomalous beleifs and assertions. Parapsychology also has nothing whatsoever to do with "ghost hunting".

Your mind doesn't "play tricks" like a person would do to their friends on April fools day. What your mind does do is try to make sense of the world around you and make sense of things out of what information it is given.

For example people see faces in all kinds of blobs and photos. This is known as Pareidolia.

When our brains see or hear things that make no sense, the brain tries very hard to turn it into something we do recognize. That is why we make out patterns in clouds, or certain words when a record is played backwards.

The mind is not a trickster out play jokes on you, but sometimes it does its job a little haphazardly, and we end up thinking we saw something we didn't.
