How do you calculate the occupant load in a dance club?

You divide the net floor area by the feet-per-person required for the type of use (e.g., open floor 7 sq ft per person, movable seating, 15 sq ft) and find out the maximum area load. Then you divide the width of all the approved exit doors by an egress factor to find out how many people that exit will allow. Then select the lower of the two numbers for the maximum load.
