phobias are named accordingly to an object, place, animal, emotion,etc. causing fear response in an individual; latin words are used before the word phobia labeling each fear appropiately. Phobo, a latin root, means fear. another latin root is added on to make the word complete. for example, arachnophobiameans a fear of spiders, because arachna means spider, and phobia means fear.

It doesn't have an official name, but loving cheese is Tyrosemiophilia, so I'd assume the fear of cheese is Tyrosemiophobia.

When someone has a constant fear of harming themselves it is called self-harm OCD. This condition makes the person do things differently or avoid doing some things all together because they are so paranoid they will get hurt or killed.

Podophobia is an irrational fear of feet. This fear can be of the person's own feet or feet of someone else's. The fear can have different side effects such as fear of stepping in shoe shops or even shops that sell socks. The fear can also be feet in general (Ex. looking at feet) or of looking and/or touching bare feet.

Pogonophobia comes from pogonotrophy which is the ancient Greek word for growing a beard. Pogon=beard and trophy=to nourish or grow. Hence pogon-o-phobia - the fear of beards.

There is no official word that means "fear of fathers." However, the Greek word for "father" is "pater", so a possible neologism would be "paterophobia."

This famous quote from Franklin Delano Roosevelt referred to the fact that uninformed fears and irrational panic can turn a manageable situation into a dangerous crisis.

Catagelophobia or Katagelophobia.

Even very neurotic people are not actually afraid of themselves, but many people do fear that they are in some way not good enough. They fear their own weakness. But it's not really a phobia, it's a lack of self confidence.

Because they are full of rubbish and some people just have that fear ;)

arachnophobia - fear of spiders and other arachnids (example: scorpions)

agoraphobia - this is an anxiety disorder. it's an attack of intense fear and/or anxiety that may occur when in wide open spaces, crowded areas or in an area where escaping or hiding may be difficult

coulrophobia - fear of clowns

There are many phrases and words to describe fear. Scared and terrified are words that mean the same thing as fear. There are many phobias that people fear, and many activities where something bad happens can generate fear in similar activities.

There is no scientific name for being scared of carrots.

You can have a phobia about anything. If mean is there a name for a phobia of pills then that would come under Pharmacophobia or a fear of medicines.

I WISH I KNEW Because I have it too.. Its wierd that no one else is though.. I mean, its an uncontrollable sucking machine at the bottom of pools, that also rides up the sides. I dunno, I've been afraid of them since I was little, but hopefully theres a name for it so I'll feel less crazy.

Everyone says it's claustrophobia, the fear of being closed in, but it's not often.

I have a fear of lifts, I always get scared it's going to fall and I'm gonna die, and I know that isn't claustrophobia.

to stop being scared you just, sometimes pray im not a christian but yet when i get realy scared i pray not for that thing to happen it then takes my mind off of things and it all becomes better

Not logically, no.

However if your around someone who is Agoraphobic (fear of being outsides/ open areas) and they go on about all the dangers outside and why they fear it so much, it IS possible for you to similarly develop the fear yourself. Though it's more a matter of you were persuaded to fear the outside rather than you "caught" the phobia.

Note: Agoraphobia was just an example, it is possible to do this with any phobia if the person is persuasive enough and detailed enough.
