pigs are notoriously clean and healthy animals. i have worked with pigs in the past and the only problems i usually saw with them was their feet were bad due to unclean living conditions and no grooming. and their skin was bad due to the same thing, people think pigs love to roll around in mud and get dirty all the time but that is untrue. pigs love being clean and prefer clean water to dirt any day. if you wish to get a pig , if you keep its area clean of debris and other things filthy. (they can have mud just make sure they have plenty of room to get out of the mud) ensure your pigs always have clean food and water, and check their feet to make sure the hooves aren't too long. then your vet care should be as low as one or two checkups per year. hope this helps.
