Is it possible to get pregnant after two days after your period?

ANSWER

Day 1 and Day 2 of your period are the two days a month when your chances of conceiving are zero. According to the Emergency BC site Not-2-Late. Your chance begins rising starting day 3 and continues until 24 hours past ovulation, when it begins dropping slowly.

It is not that the menses washes or rinses sperm away, it is that there are too many days before ovulating for there to be any remaining sperm to fertilize the ripe egg.

Sperm can live up to a week in the female reproductive tract, waiting for ovulation.

How do you stop a pregnancy alone after a week?

It takes 2 weeks until the pregnancy test is reliable so you are either 3 weeks pregnant or haven't got a reliable test result yet. If it's after 72 hours it's too late to prevent pregnancy so you have to have an abortion. See your doctor.

Can you be pregnant with 3 positive urine tests but hormone blood level of 3?

i don't think so but maybe.

HCG is the hormone human chronic gonadotropin, which is produced by placental cells during pregnancy.

Yes, you can be pregnant with an HCG level at 3. Typically, below 5 is negative and above 25 is positive. It can be this low in the first week or two of pregnancy. Some women have lower HCG levels during pregnancy than are typical. Ectopic pregnancies can result in low HCG levels. It can also indicate a problem with the pregnancy. It is best to have at least two HCG readings a couple days apart, if you are relying on HCG levels. If you think you should be 5 or more weeks pregnant but have low HCG levels, it would be a good idea to double-check with an ultrasound.

What is hCG?

HGC LevelsHere are answers and opinions from FAQ Farmers:
  • I don't know the exact definition, but it is a hormone a woman's body produces when she is pregnant. Home pregnancy tests have chemicals that "look" for HCG in the urine. If there is HGC in the urine, the test will show a positive.
  • HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone ONLY produced during pregnancy. I'm not really sure if "levels" are important, just if it's there or not. That's what pregnancy tests screen for in your urine.
  • From what I understand, after two or more blood tests, the doctor can tell wheather the levels of HCG are rising, or lowering. If they are rising, it is good, because it rises a lot over the first three months (also the cause for most morning sickness). If they levels are rapidly decreasing, it's a sign of a miscarriage (that happened to me, that's the only reason I know all this), and if it's slowly decreasing, it probably means your into your second trimester, when the levels do drop or stop excessivly reproducing, but of course, still stay in your system. From one blood test, they can see if your pregnant, that's how the home pregnany tests work as well, but they can't tell if the pregnancy is viable until one or more blood tests are taken. I don't know if all this is totally right, but it's the gist of it.
  • The Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a hormone produced by the mother's body during pregnancy. This is also the hormone for which a home pregnancy testing kit will test. Most home pregnancy tests will detect levels of HCG at or above 50mlU, but some 'early response' style tests can detect smaller amounts. In a normal pregnancy, the HCG levels should at least double every two to three days in the first trimester. This is why two blood tests taken a couple of days apart are often used to determine the viability of an early pregnancy.

To be honest part of your answer is wrong. You can receive HGC after you are pregnant as well. If you look up on the internet about molar pregnancies... there is weird way that HGC levels are given off into your body without you being pregnant.

Rising HCG levels during pregnancy is important. If not enough HCG amount to support the current state of pregnancy the baby may be miscarried. Urine samples are done at every dr. appt. to check to make sure you have the right levels etc...

What does it mean if your HCG levels are 283 at 5 weeks?

It is right at the top end of the normal range. It may mean several things. A scan will show you. you could be having multiples!!! Although I am the same number of weeks with 9313 hcg and I only have a singleton

If you got 3 really faint positive pregnancy tests of the same brand then 2 negatives on a different brand that has the same sensitivity can you be pregnant?

The first test may not have had a large enough or strong enough sample. Since you did the separate brand, and it came back negative, you should not be pregnant. But, if you have had unprotected sex less than three weeks ago, a pregnancy may not be producting enough HCG hormone yet to give you a positive on a test.

How can you tell the difference between a miscarriage and a period?

A lot of women track their flow and if you are pregnant and you experience abnormal amount of blood, blood clots big or small, painful cramps it's a good chance that you are having a miscarriage. First off you need to know if you are pregnant or not, if you are and you are having any of those miscarriage symptoms I named off please see your doctor immediately and if necessary go to the emergency room. If you know you are not pregnant and use birth control and experience some heavier than usual blood flow, know it could be a diet change, stress, and much more. I recommend taking some vitamin C pills daily because not only does it help keep the cold away but it can also reduce heavy menstrual bleeding.

How far along is pregnancy with 27680 hcg level?

I tested today at 1800 and I'm about three and a half weeks along.

What are normal hemoglobin levels at 25 weeks of pregnancy?

Hemoglobin levels are measured in blood tests routinely given to pregnant women during prenatal visits. Average levels for early in pregnancy should be around 13.3 grams per deciliter. Safest levels between 11g and 12g, but you should really talk to your doctor if you are worried. Even call them in the morning if it bothers you too much, they don't mind.

What levels of HCG can home pregnancy tests detect?

All pregnancy tests are designed a little differently and a positive result may come from a high or low level of HCG, it really depends on the manufacturer of the test. When they make the test, they determine what amounts of that hormone need to be detected to produce a positive result. Check the manufacturer's instructions.

What does it mean when your hcg levels go down then up again?

HCG levels only rise during pregnancy or if your taking medication that contains HCG. If your levels went down and then up again, this could be for any number of reasons. A strong possibility is you had a miscarriage and conceived again right after, the baby was distressed and HCG levels lowered then went up again or you was carrying twins and miscarried one and the levels went up again because of the remaining baby. You need to see your doctor to find out for definite.

What does it mean if your hcg level is double what it should normally be when you are pregnant?

your most likely pregnant. you should see a doctor.

if you already knew you were pregnant, than its normal. HCG levels will tend to double regularly and peaks at 8-11 weeks. again, you might want to see a doctor if the doubling occurs quickly, because it may mean you have multiples (twins).

Do pregnant women feel like burning is the stomach?

Stop having unprotected sex if you don't want to become pregnant. I don't know that burning in your stomach is a sign of pregnancy, but sensitive breasts are a sign. But that can also be a sign of your period coming. Wait until you are at least a day late and then take a home test. If you are still unsure, go see a doctor. If you don't have a doctor you can look up planned parenthood in the phone book, they can help you with finding a form or protection.

Burning in the stomach does not mean you are pregnant. You have diarrea. Drink some pepto bismol and it will go away.

These can be symptoms of many things including a growing uterus and acid reflux caused by an increase in the production of progesterone. Wait until you miss a period and then take a home pregnancy test.

If your last period was Sept 26 and you had a light period on Oct 23 and a positive pregnancy test on Nov 8 and a US on Dec. 1 said you were 7 weeks how does this add up if your due date is July 18?

http://www.intmed.mcw.edu/clincalc/pregnancy.html I went to the above website put in July 18th as your due date. So your light period was probably implantation bleeding, some women will have light spotting when there period would be due when they are pregnant. Also that website goes by a 28 day cycle, So if your cycle is more or less you can add or subtract how many ever days you need to get to your cycle lenth.

You went from 859 hcg to 950 hcg in 40 hours is this normal?

It is not likely that this will result in a full-term pregnancy. The HCG should double within 48-72 hours. A rise of less than 100 in 40 hours could indicate an ectopic pregnancy or an impending m/c. I'm terribly sorry, but seeing as I have had 8 m'c's, I feel like an expert. I am also a Registered Nurse. Melissa
