To keep an inmate in county jail or prison for a year it costs between 45 to 55 thousand. I served 4 years believe me. And that was in Texas

This is a common theme in world literature. People discuss it on all levels of society and in every culture. The fact is that there is no one worst way. Everyone has their own idea of the worst way. Some would argue that immolation (burning alive) is the worst form of death. Still others would argue that exsanguination would be worst, as it is a lingering form. Some say freezing to death is the worst way of passing. Still others argue cancer, TB, or some other form of disease or illness. I'm certain a few would argue that being devoured by an animal would be the worst, being shot, being stabbed, being beaten, all of these would be the worst. My personal belief is that the worst way to die is not the manner of demise, but the condition; to die alone would be the saddest and the worst way many can conceive to go. To be alone and lonely, to be unloved, uncared for. This is just heart rending to consider.

In 2002, US rapper Carlos Coy (aka South Park Mexican) received a 45-year sentence for sex with a minor. Barring the granting of a new trial, Coy is first eligible for parole in 2024. Otherwise, his projected release date is April 8, 2047.

The record of arrests and jail inmates is a public record. However you would probably have to have at least SOME idea as to which jail the person is in. If you know which one, simply call them and ask. Due to the ever-changing population of local jails, information such as this is usually NOT posted on a website somewhere . . . at least not on a current basis.

To rehabilitate the inmates into productive members of society, but that seems to have failed.

Update: Angola Prison warden Burl Cain is telling a News 2 crew he believes an escaped inmate is still in the woods. There have been reports that 44-year-old Henry Smith may have been spotted in a green car. Warden Cain, though, now says he doesn't believe those reports. Searchers are looking through heavy overgrowth trying to find Smith. He walked away from a work detail yesterday. Smith is serving time for second degree murder.

It all depends. If you want a social, contact or family vistit. For a family visit you need to be immediate family, married, and first and foremost you need to get approved by the state. Very long dry process. but if your married to the guy that's all good!

Sure, by asking him. The prison will not give out this information. You might try a FOIA request to your state's Department of Corrections, but it is unlikely they will release the info.

When people are sent to jail they're sent there because they committed a crime. Society is much safer if the person who committed to the crime is sent to jail to serve a certain amount of time!

Unfortunately this is to often not the case.

I suppose if the case at hands was something of an accident, then with splendid behaviour you might be able to apply for early release after only 1 year.

Inmates in the state of Tennessee can have visits. At the county jails it is usually once a week. However, if they get write ups or have discipline issues those visits can be suspended as part of their punishment. Some jails do not allow children under the age of 18 to visit. At most jails you must be put on the inmates visitation list by the inmate in order to go visit them. The visits are usually for one hour. The inmates can get mail from anyone tho---that is their right.

There is no mens prison in Marysville, Ca., altho the old sutter county jail was like one. It was built under the courthouse on 2nd st., where it is still in full bloom today. When it rained, you had to bucket out your cell or you had better know how to swim. I do believe that at least 3-5 of the prisons in the state were built with the Marysville area in the blueprints. We have more convicts, parolees, ex-cons and just plain felonious people per capita than any other city in the state. I'm not saying that with any distain, because I am an ex-felon myself.

Certainly, if a child knows how to kill and commit crimes by 10 years old they should. There were two 14 year old kids who attacked a woman in her car, one held her and threatened her with a knife, while the other drove to a nearby woods, they both raped her and finally smashed her head with a rock; which caused her death. If a 14 year old child can do all those things, yeah they should also face prison.
