How many successors were there after death of Prophet Muhammad explain?

The first thing to keep in mind is that the Prophet-hood not Kingship in which the son succeeds the father. The Prophets have no inheritance. The holy Prophet (SAW) used to lead the Prayers till he fell ill and was not able to lead the Muslims in prayer. He deputed this duty to his closest friend, father-in-law, and the first adult Muslim whom Almighty Allah describes as his friend in the Cave of Thor - Hazrat Abu Bakr (RAU). It may have been an indication that he was the most suitable person after him to lead the Muslims. However, he didn't mention any clear name of his Caliph in this regards. It left it to his Companions whom he considered to be equal to the task.

The Ansaar (the Helpers-native people of Madina Munawra) were discussing the matter of caliphate in Saqifa Bani Sa'adia when Hazra Abu Bakr RAU, Hazrat Omar RAU and Hazra Abu Obaida RAU reached there and after a heated discussion Hazrat Abu Bakr (RAU) was chosen the First Rightful Caliph.

On his death bed, Hazrat Abu Bakr (RAU) suggested the name of Hazrat Omar (RAU) to succeed him. The Companions rau agreed to his proposal and Hazrat Omar (RAU) became the second Rightful Caliph.

When Hazrat Omar (RAU) was fatally wounded as a result of a conspiracy, he suggested the names of six holy Companions (RAU) to select a Caliph amongst them. Some of the Companions suggested to him that he should nominate his son Hazrat Abdullah bin Omar as Caliph. He didn't agree to this proposal. The six companions nominated by him were:

Hazrat Usman ibni Affan,

Hazrat Ali ibni Abu Talib, Hazrat Zubair bin Awam,

Hazrat Talhah bin Obaid Ullah,

Hazrat Abdul Rahman bin Aof, and

Hazrat Sa'ad bin Abi Waqas rau all of them.

After some sittings and discussions, Hazrat Usman bin Affan rau was chosen the third Rightful Caliph.

During the last days of Hazrat Usman rau rebels sieged his house and killed him. Then they forced Hazrat Ali rau to become the fourth Rightful Caliph. Yet, his Caliphate was never completely established till he was killed by a Khawaji. After his death His elder son Hazrat Hassan rau became the caliph but be withdrew his name, made peace with Hazrat Muawiya rau.

Was luqman a prophet?

No he was not a prophet

but a whole chapter is

named after him because

of his wisdom. The hadith you are

referring to is different

then what I know,

Luqman already had

wisdom. An angel came

to him (Not sure if it was Gibrael forgot) and asked

if he wanted to be a

prophet and he declined

because of all the

responsibilities. It is not

a very strong hadith but it does not mean its

weak. Instead, the

prophethood went to

Dawood who was alive

during the same time. He was just a very wise

man, an African man. A

story about him, Luqman

was actually not very

attractive and a man

made a comment and called him ugly, and

Luqman replied with pure

wisdom and said "Are

you making fun of me or

the creator?" and the

man could not answer. Another story of Luqman

is when he is with his son

and they are travelling

with a donkey/horse and

Luqman was riding the

the animal and came across people and the

people said, look at that

man, riding the animal

while making his son

walk. So Luqman and his

son swapped places and came across people who

said, look the father

walks and the son is on

top. Then both of them

went on and another

group saw that and said, look at that poor animal.

They both went off and

all walked and the final

group said look, they

have an animal and no

one is riding it. After Luqman told his

son, look, no matter

what you do you will

never please everyone.

Did Muhammad die for the sins of humanity?

A:

No. Like all men, Muhammad had to die. He died in Medina, on Monday, 8th June 632 CE, at the age of 62 or 63.

Answer 2

Yes and No. According to Islamic tradition, Muhammad ascended to heaven on two distinct occasions. The second one, is the one alluded to by Answer 1, namely when he passed away and joined the uppermost level of heaven with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. However, the first occasion was the miracle of the mir'aaj, when Muhammad ascended to heaven astride the buraaq and met the former messengers of God in heaven, before returning to Earth. On this journey, Muhammad did not die at any point.

Did Muhammad translate the Quran into Latin and Hebrew?

No, he did not.

Hebrew

The first time the Qur'an was ever translated into Hebrew was in 2008. This version was quite bigoted. A better, more accurate translation was done in 2010. Here is the online version of that version, called Ha-Qur'an Ha-mefo'ar. The only flaw in this version is that it was done entirely without Hebrew vowel marks, which is not the standard for such books.

Latin

The first Latin translation was done around 1141–1143 under the auspices of Peter the Venerable, made by a group led by Robert of Ketton (or Roberto Ketenese, or Robertus Retenensis), known as the Lex Mahumet pseudoprophete; much later much criticized. The second translation was about 50 years later (1193–1216) by Mark of Toledo, and was regarded as a noticeable improvement.

How did Meccan rulers react to Muhammad's popularity?

Muhammad had only 150 followers in Mecca, so to say he was "popular" while he lived there would be incorrect. He was the leader of a small religious minority that was mostly ignored, save for its clear and unambiguous threat to destroy the religious property and paraphernalia of other religious groups. Meccan leaders properly took action to prevent that eventuality, but were overzealous in their attempts to assassinate Muhammad.

When Muhammad's religion became more popular in Medina, the Meccan leaders could not have cared less about Muhammad or his popularity. However, Muhammad began to attack Meccan trade caravans, pillage their contents, and murder their personnel. This wanton disregard for life angered the Meccan leadership which declared war on Medina when Muhammad refused to stop sanctioning this violence.

All in all, Meccans could not have cared less about how popular Islam was; they cared about how violent Muhammad was exhorting his followers to be. Thankfully, most of these exhortations are only preserved in the Hadiths or Sira, which allow for Muslims today to not follow them.

What do you say after the you say the name of Prophet Muhammad?

I don't say anything because I am not a Muslim.

Muslims say "peace be upon him".

I have heard anti-Muslims say much ruder things, but I find this unnecessarily insulting.

After mentioning the name the holy Prophets the Muslims say, e.g.:

Hazrat Abraham (AS- Alai-his-salam or May peace be upon him)

After the name of Hazrat Muhammad the Muslims say Sallal la ho alai wasallam or may say the May peace be upon him.

The Muslims must respect all the holy Prophets (May peace be upon them all). It is obligatory on them.

Why face a wall when you pray?

It depends on the religion and it depends on the wall. Often times, people pray in front of a wall due to the religious significance of the wall or any buildings that previously used or required that wall.

___________________________________________________________

It is not true. Muslims face the direction of Kaba (or The Grand Mosque in Makkah or Mecca) in Makkah (or Mecca) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. If the wall is facing Kaba then they face the wall bit it is not necessary to have a wall facing the Kaba to pray facing this wall.
