i have two pugs, and they are both female, they get along great, but when food or attention is in the picture, they start to fight, so a pugs enemy could be anyone, but i think its just female pugs.
Well what I've noticed was that the Pug-Zu is more furry.
Their fur sticks out more and the pugs are slick and slide back.
I WANT A PUG SO BADLY!
Hickman Video Productions would be my recommendation for a number of different reasons. However, in large part this is mostly due to their main focus. They do a lot of work on family videos and weddings, so know what you'll probably need.
Most dogs menstruate (come in season) approx every 6 months and the first time can be any time from about 7 months of age, They bleed for about 2-3 weeks. It can be less frequently, especially with Pugs, one of my Pug bitches had her first season at 11 months old and comes in season only every 11 months.
You may have some luck looking for a pug puppy that is up for adoption at the local animal shelter/humane society. Believe it or not, a lot of puppies go to humane socieities. Or you may want to consider a pug that is not purebred.
Please always think of adopting before buying from a breeder.
In most cases, no - canine respiratory viruses are not infectious to humans. The one exception I will mention is canine influenza virus - in VERY rare circumstances, the virus can mutate so that it may become infectious to humans. To the best of my knowledge, this has not been documented to occur, but it is a hypothetical possibility.
The average weight range for pugs is anywhere from 18 - 30 pounds, with about 22 pounds being the more common. Some pugs are larger boned than others, so this is the main factor in their weight. But you have to be careful not to let them get overweight because of the breathing problems it can cause due to their short snouts. Being overweight can also result in numerous other medical problems, as well.
It's best to not free feed (keep food available at all times) since pugs do tend to have 'piggish' appetites. I feed my pugs twice a day, at the same times each day. By feeding them twice a day instead of the once a day feeding many people do, I have found that they have much less digestive problems. And it helps control their weight. You also have to be careful to not let them have too many treats between meals, and NO table scraps, no matter how tempted you are to give it to them.
Pups should be weaned at 6 to 8 weeks old to leave their mother.
Generally, dogs of all breeds lick to either taste you (like the salt on your skin) or show submission. If the amount of licking bothers you, there are many positive ways to address that issue. Remember not to yell at your dog for doing it as he/she is only trying to get close to you in some way.
at three weeks of age a pug puppy should still be actively nursing his mother, if the mother is not available, a milk substitute should be fed either by bottle or if the puppy is able to lap up, along with a puppy formulaion of dampened food with the milk substitute
I think they are both very cute, fun, and GREAT to be around! I love dogs and all animals!! People have told me that most boy dogs are the most playful, but I think they are both VERY playful! (especially if they are puppies!) I think you should get a boy and a girl!
Yes they can live outside. But should have a dog house. They should be in a fenced in yard or have a long chain for them to be attached to the dog house to the dog house .They should come inside during harsh weather conditions . Like a flood,t-storm, lightning , tornado , hurricane, and heavy rain.
Well I'm guessing by type you mean colors, so the only real pug colors accepted by the akc is fawn, which is a tan color with a black mask and black ears, there is also a black pug. As far as others there are brindle and white, which are not accepted by the AKC and no responsible breeder would purposely breed these colors. They maybe cute and they may even be called "rare" they are not really true to the breed, and would never be allowed in dogs shows.
Puggles generally grow to be 15-25 lbs. and approximately 13-15 inches at the shoulder. Puggles can, of course be upward of 30 lbs, or as small as 12 lbs. This depends on many factors such as the size of the parents, as well as the size of the litter.
because they are a toy breed their joints won't allow them to grow anymore just like dwarf/midget they just can't grow anymore their joints wont allow them to.
they live up to 15 years.i have one and i love him.his name is buster.make sure if you get one dont feed them flours and they over heat easy so have fun!!!
no most pugs have severe separation anxiety when the people they have attached leave them. They will worry themselves sick...litterally. So if you are going on vacation make sure to either find a close friend to send them to so they won't be alone alot or find a pet friendly hotel. also if you travel alot on the job maybe you need a different breed
A shih tzu or a corgi, corgis grow half and they turn out to look like mini German shepherds. A shih tzu is a small little dog and only grows about a German shepherd size. The next 1 is a chihuaua, its very small and grows like a German puppy also.
Nothing, as long as your dog is a pet it really makes no difference, a show dog should have a curly tail but it is only for looks. Your dogs tail could have been dislocated when it was a puppy or just been born that way but I am sure he/she is lovely straight tail and all and will lead a full and happy life.
Signs that your pug may be going blind are crashing into walls, or sometimes just bumping into things. A good way to test this is to move something that has been in the same spot for a long time such as a chair or set a box in the middle of the floor and see what happens. Also a cloudiness in the eyes can indicate an infection in a young dog, or cataracts in an older dog. But not to fret, blind dogs can still have quality of life and live and long and happy one.
