How much does a pet rabbit weight?

Can rabbits eat toasted rice?

A small amount is okay for the rabbit, but it shouldn't be a treat or on their diet. I'd assume you to only give about an inch or smaller. Not very big. If you decide to give a rabbit a large amount and it decides to eat all of it, it can harm the rabbit. It usually doesn't digest bread.

Do bears attack rabbits?

Bears are not very fleet-footed, so it would be difficult for them to catch a rabbit. If they could, they would. Most bears east mainly plant matter, then insects, overall little meat is eaten. Polar bears eat meat because there is little vegetation where they live but there are no rabbits.

What can make a rabbits ear swollen?

In general, you shouldn't clean a rabbit's eye regardless of age. Rabbits are pretty fastidious groomers and will typically clean themselves adequately; mothers will keep their babies clean as well.

However, if your rabbit develops an eye infection or otherwise is unable to adequately clean it's eye, you would use room temperature tap water on a soft tissue, cloth or toilet paper. Gently (NO inward pressure) wipe DOWN the inside of the corner of the eye, then follow the grain of the hair out away from the nose. I would strongly recommend having a vet show you how to do this and when it would be needed before starting to do this yourself, as you can cause significant damage pretty easily.

Do desert hares need water?

How much does rabbit food cost?

Can dwarf rabbits eat grass?

Yes, any kind of pet rabbit can eat hay. Hay is the most important part of a pet rabbit's diet! See the related question below for more info about a healthy rabbit diet.

Timothy hay (a kind of grass hay) is best as a staple for adults, whereas alfalfa hay is good for young and pregnant rabbits. Adult rabbits can eat other varieties of grass hay, too (like brome, orchard grass, meadow grass), but legume hays (like alfalfa) aren't good for them.

What toys do baby bunnies like best?

Every bunny is unique in the toys it likes, but try large balls (NEVER small as the rabbit may swallow them),cardboard boxes (you turn one upside down and use scissors to cut a rabbit sized hole. filling the box with hay/shredded paper adds extra fun!) ,cardboard tubes (or the wooden/plastic types you find in the shops).

With the cardboard it's important you make sure there are no sharp edges, and of course make sure the ball is not chewable!adding on this, my bunny also has 2 cuddly toys and she has grown to think they are her babies and plays with them! this is a good idea if you have one bunny, who is lonely. if your bunny is a baby then this will be great but if your bunny is older they might not like it as they feel it is invading its territory. dont give your bunny a toy that is electrical or dear to you either because your bunny will most likely do stuff on it and some times bite it.

What to feed rabbits in your yard?

First Answer: If you were to go to the store and get full grown cabbages and carrots WITH the greens on top and half bury each in a sort of garden, and maybe spinach too, the rabbits would think its natural and dig them up them selves. Make sure the fake garden is not that close to your house, because they get kind of scared near humans if they are wild. Here is a list of foods they might or might not eat depending on their taste: Carrots, Cabbage, Lettuce, Spinach, Eggplant, Zucchini, Squash, Broccoli (sometimes), and Okra (sometimes). Have fun and please make sure they are all full grown foods, to feed them full!

More Details: Dark leafy greens are good for rabbits, but other than that, vegetables aren't really part of a rabbit's natural diet and too much can make them sick. Most of the vegetables mentioned above are fine as a treat only.

Good dark-coloured leafy greens include:

  • lettuces (like romaine, boston, and chicories - like escarole, endive, frisee, radicchio)
  • spinach
  • carrot tops
  • beet tops/chard
  • dandelion
  • fresh herbs (like basil, mint, thyme, cilantro)

Cruciferous greens (like cabbage, broccoli leaves, kale, radish tops, turnip tops, collards) should be limited because they can cause gas (which can be deadly in rabbits).

Other things you can feed rabbits in your yard include flowers, weeds, and garden plants:

  • Bramble leaves
  • Borage
  • Butterbur
  • Chickweed
  • Comfrey
  • Coltsfoot
  • Cow parsnip
  • Dock
  • Goosegrass
  • Goutweed
  • Hawkweed
  • Heather
  • Hedge parsley
  • Knotgrass
  • Lemon balm
  • Lovage
  • Marjoram
  • Nipplewort
  • Plantain
  • Rosemary
  • Salad burnet
  • Savory
  • Shepherd's purse
  • Tarragon
  • Thistle
  • Yarrow
  • Flowers:
  • Aster Camomile Caraway Dandelion Day lilies Galega Geranium Geum Hibiscus Hollyhock Honesty Hyssop Jasmine Lavender Lilac Marguerite Marigold Nasturtiums Pansies Roses Sunflower Wallflower

Yes, but only as a treat. They should not be a daily food as they have too much sugar and can make the rabbits ill if they eat too many.

Can rabbits eat winter melon?

Yes and it's good for them. Pinapple contains enzymes that help break down rabbit fur, which rabbits consume as they clean themselves. Rabbits can die from fur balls because (unlike cats for example) they lack the ability to vomit. Pinapple keeps your rabbit healthy and most rabbits love it!

What happens if your cat eats a rabbit?

It may be because the rabbit itself was sick or poisoned, or the cat itself had a compromised immune system which makes it more susceptible to being more vulnerable to any extra harmful bacteria in the prey.

That being said, it is very uncommon for a healthy cat to get sick from eating a rabbit, mouse, rat, bird or other animal it has caught. A cat's digestive system is well equipped for breaking down everything (meat, organ, bone) in order to extract all the nutrients it needs. Even bacteria that can be found has very little to no chance to multiply and become harmful inside the cat as a cat's system is so fast and efficient.

How do you settle in your new baby rabbit?

acutally, my best friend just got a mini holland lop/mini rex mix bunny and she is soooo cute! She's only 9 weeks old and she is very energetic. My friend says that her dog who happens to be a little Yorkshire terrior loves to play with her bunny. You should keep the door closed and then let them roam around in your room to get used to it. Mini lops need a lot of room to run around and get comfortable before they can start cuddling up in your lap with you. It's always best to potty train them so they don't pee or poop in your room. If you potty train them, they will know not to poop or pee when you are holding them which is always good. My friend just got her bunny last Sunday, which was on April 25th so her bunny has been with her for just about a week. She brought her in to school with the permission of our middle school principal and she brought her around to my advisory and i got to hold her! She didn't squirm or anything, but i guess her bunny is just really sweet and likes to be held. Uh, so thanks, hopefully i will get a bunny soon, haven't asked my dad yet though, can't wait! Good luck with your bunny and hopefully this gave you an idea of how to handle them and make them more comfortable, bye!
