Maybe someone really creative can figure out how to answer this in a Q/A Wiki, but I don't see how. Your best bet is to visit a local music shop and pick up a basic, crash course in recorder. It isn't super difficult. You have to be able to see illustrations, and ideally, to hear a recording of basic playing. We wish you the best!

Well, although I don't know how to play recorder (assuming recorder as in a woodwind musical instrument and also assuming that you meant something similar to "How do you play Mary had a little lamb with a recorder" and that you are asking what note as in the pitch), I would say that it depends on the key you want to play. Additionally, you will need to know how long each note is. For simplicity, you can play it in C Major.
If you know how to read from scores (music sheets), then great! You can just go to Google (possible Image) and search "Mary had a little lamb" and you should be bombarded with many scores. Don't worry, if it is a fake one, then if you try and play it (if you have the ability and with an instrument required) then it won't sound right.

What year did the first recorder come out?
You have to go back to the earliest recordings of musical works that would not fit on one record. For a while they were sold separately, but record stores also sold blank albums that had pockets for a dozen records or so. By 1925 the Victor Talking Machine Co. was selling large works like symphonies in specially printed albums, but the practice may be earlier than that date. There are two "C's on the recorder. One is called low c which is the very last hole on the recorder at the bottom. You play it by putting all of your fingers on the wholes they go on and your thumb on the hole in the back.
Then there is a high c which is the second highest sounding note on recorder. The second note from the top is where you place your middle finger. Just your middle finger lays on the second hole, not even the first one before it. Then on the back you put your thumb on the back hole and blow a high note.
