Renault Clio II

You need special tools to lock cams and crank

A mechanic may use a diagram for a Renault Clio to do necessary repairs. The diagram is helpful because it gives an outline of how the car is made.

clio 2004 does not have oil pump or belt, it has an electronic ecu and motor attached to steering column buried deep under the dash board.

if you know what fuse it will be blown if you look at it the small wire inside will be broke may even blacken the sides if not get a haynes manual from and local car shop and there will be diagrams in there for you to find the right fuse that may be broken

but the biggest give away is that what ever it fuses wont work !

On the fuse box door you can see a pictorial representation of what the fuse is for, for a more detailed description refer to your car manual (downloadable from http://www.pdf-search-engine.com/renault-clio-service-manual-pdf.html) or buy a copy of the Haynes manual from your local Halfords.

check on the Renault community forum site t means an injection fault and h means an oil sensor fault

alright m8 if u pull the ash tray out u will se it under ther. do u know ow 2 reset the service and airbag light ???

What ever engine you want to put in it! But seriously any engine from the same range will fit. Even the v6

This is not an easy job as there is very little access to any of the mounting bolts and once the alternator is unbolted it's even harder to get it out of the engine bay

If you have a Haynes manual, ignore it. It simlifies the job beyond belief.

Unless you are both a competant DIY mechanic AND very patient it's not worth considering doing this job yourself, if you can afford it let a garage do it for you.

i had the same probelem with mine and its got to do with the key fob needing replacing can be traced by renault dealers.

there are 3 mounts one main engine mount on the offside

a small mount underneath the gearbox tying it to the chassis

the final is a bearing type mount underneath the battery

there are two or three screws on the bottom of the door, where the plastic meets the metal of the door. Again, on the lower part of the door (maybe 1 on the side too) Hope to help

The 1.2 has screw and locknut valve clearance adjustment. If you don't adjust them every 24,000 miles you will probably end up with burnt valves, loss of compression and the emissions warning light coming on to protect the catalytic converter. Engine wobbles on its mounts and fuel consumption goes up.

if its a mk2 phase 2 then open bonnet top left by wipers underneath plastic plate just under wind screen, once removed another smaller long plstic black strip is visable, under there is ur pollen filter :)

Under the bonnet near the battery there is a black cover/box, pop the lid off and there are some square relays and some rectangular ones the ther usually is 3 in a row of the rectangular ones, they usually black, but old ones can be brown. Its one of those 3. I take it your fuel pump dosnt operate when cranking, give em a wiggle/knock 1st. The wiring terminals often get corroded too

right some clios dnt have a rear wiper but what you do is open the boot remove the casing on the other side and then u should see a bolt... undo the bolt and it should come off sometimes they don't come off because they are too tight but i would go to a halfords or a garage and ask them to do it for you ...

i wouldn't remove it you will regret it i removed mine and i messed the wires up so when i was driving in the rain couldn't see anything from bk or when it got relli dirty couldn't see anything

I had this problem on my clio 172, it's just the battery in the key fob may need replacing if the engine will turn over but just not start? works everytime for me now!

you first of all prise of the speaker cover with a small flat headed screwdriver. You then undo the 4 screws look on the back of the speaker and on the connection if will tell you which wire is + and which is - you then cut the plug off with enough left on it so you can fit them back in the future if needed crimp on the new fittings to suit ya new speakers and screw in speakers, pop back covers and enjoy ya new sounds!!!!

They are underneath the dashboard in the far left hand corner just behind the fuse box. You can access them from the passenger side foot well.

some times it the wires under the seats that make the air bag light stay one just reach under the seats and wiggle the wires till the light goes out simple as that
