Regularly it drinks twice a day if water is available, but if conditions get dry it can live four or five days without water. It spends about half of the day eating, one third resting, and the rest of the day doing various other things. White Rhinos, like all species of rhino, love wallowing in mudholes to cool down.

They don't die from laying eggs, but from an evolutionary standpoint, there is no reason for a species to live past an age when it can reproduce. Almost every species on the planet dies at about the age when it can no longer reproduce, butterflies included. Humans have artificially extended our lives with modern medicine, making us one of the few exceptions to this rule. (thank God for that!) :)

Giraffes learn how to find food and water. They also learn to run away from predators. These two things are taught to them by their parents.

In the US, the best place for the public to find rhinos is at public zoos. Most big zoos have at least a few. These include the zoos in Birmingham, the Bronx, Cheyenne Mountain, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dallas, Des Moines, Los Angeles, Memphis, Miami, Pittsburgh, San Diego, and San Francisco. Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando also has rhinos.

Animals do not consciously adapt to their environment. It is a matter of evolution and 'survival of the fittest'.

Adaptations come about through mutant variations, most of which are detrimental. However, occasionally a mutation will be beneficial and allow the creature to survive more easily. Such a creature has more chances to procreate and pass on the successful mutation or gene.

Rhinos are herbivores, so unless hidden in the grass and eaten by accident there aren't any animals in the rhino's food chain.

The rhino doesn't feature much in other animals food chain either. Lions may occasionally get a calf, but an adult rhino is pretty much safe from predation unless it gets really ill. Eventually it will die though, and then it'll be eaten by scavengers.

There are a number of way to prevent poaching, educating people about rhinos, dehorning the animals, ensuring that there are more trained personnel to handle poachers, and stricter punishments in place for those that do poach.
