I personally train at rock crabs. But this is as I am a member. This is because of the following reasons. * Rock crabs are only level 13's * They barely hit anything on you. * They have a lot of hitpoints, so they give a lot of xp. They don't drop any good items though which is a shame. Reaching 99 will take a long time. I am not a very patient person. So I would find this incredibly difficult. Some quests give a lot of strength xp. I have not been a member long enough to be able to tell you all of them but you could probably find out if you went on www.runehq.com. Sure it is detectable, any bot is. But its not like a diablo 3 bot where it clicks in the exact same spot for hours, it randomly clicks. they have to manually read the codes injected into the client by epicbot and decide whether or not it is a bot. I have left this bot going for weeks and ive never been detected. but i change what im fighting often.

(assuming you are f2p) a great place for a lv 45 to train at is hill giants. its the shack house thing between barbarian village and grand exchange, and you need a brass key to enter. you can buy a brass key from the grand exchange. but, the dungeon is usually crowded and if you want to kill lots of giants without people stealing them, log onto a world with a low population or enter the resource dungeon inside (you need a certain dungeoneering level).

another good place for you to train is in the catacombs of famine in the stronghold of security (bring food). zombies and flesh crawlers are great for training on because of their weakness to slash.

once you get combat level 60+, you should switch to training on moss giants on the island Crandor after Dragon Slayer instead (bring lobster or anything better).

Not yet, but this possibility has been announced as a future update - part of the "Evolution of Combat". However, in the second hand, instead of using a shield (which gives you a defense bonus) you can also use a defender (which mainly gives you an offensive bonus).
