Aluminum foil would keep a sandwich warm longer than a foam box.

Not sure I would agree with the foregoing: aluminum is a very good conductor of heat and gains (or loses) heat easily. Foam would insullate the sandwich better, minimizing any temperature changes, and therefore would keep it warm (or cold) longer.
