Itching helps us to protect our skin. Sometimes an itch can be triggered if you are touched pr if you are bitten by and insect or if you are having an allergic reaction to something. Sometimes an itch is a warning of an infection or a virus trying to sneak its way into your body. By scratching, your body is attempting to remove whatever is causing the problem.

Red blotches on the skin that are not bumpy or itchy could be any number of things. It could be an allergic reaction to something such as a new detergent or soap. It could also be irritation from clothing. You should see your doctor if it does not clear up.

Ringworm is so contagious that you don't even have to touch someone to get infected. The fungus can linger in places like locker room floors, as well as on hats, combs, and brushes. Ringworm commonly are found on the legs, arms, neck, foot and face.

I developed small red, slightly raised bumps all over my belly, chest, and back on day four of taking a Z- pak. By the end of the day they had spread to my upper arms and thighs. find something to entertain you like watching TV or playing video games if that doesn't work try going to walmart,cvs pharmacy,heb,walgreens etc. and buy some anti itch cream put some on DONT rub it in though if you have scratched them to the point where they are open other wise it will sting very bad after you put the anti itch cream on your bite(s) entertain your self and try to forget they are even there and then wa-tha your bug bite stops itching

I do not have an answer, but I have the same thing. Last night I noticed about 10 miniscule (Sp?) - Tiny, red bumps that did not itch at all. About the diameter of a needle head, on my upper left breast. This morning they are all scabbed over, like someone gently stebbed my skin with the end of a exacto knife... lol.. What the heck ???

If you are talking about itchy hands or legs or face, try shea butter. There is a lotion from St. Ives called Shea butter with oatmeal that is inexpensive and a good start. If it is worse than that and the itch you are talking about is somewhere else, then keep your clothes clean and change the soap you are washing your clothes in or do double rinses in your washer to keep clothes clean. Hygiene is important for itching problems.

You may also have allergies. If you eat something and seem to get itchy soon afterward trying eliminating that for a while and if the itch goes away you know you are allergic. If it persists, then go see a dermatologist.

This sounds like peripheral neuropathy (nerve pain in the extremities) that can be caused by all sorts of different things such metabolic or endocrine disorders like diabetes with high blood sugar, or alcoholism and the vitamin deficiencies it causes. It can also be related to repeated stress injury in sports, vascular damage or disease, toxins or gout, connective tissue disorders or chronic inflammation, infections or immune problems, or just be inherited from your family. Not to scare you but some cancers pop up with this symptom though it is more rare than other explanations.

You mentioned scoliosis. If it is related to your scoliosis, it might be due to a pinched nerve, connective tissue disorder, or inflammation. Are you diabetic? If so you really need to be aware that very high blood sugar damages nerves and the feet are ravaged by diabetes. Blood sugar control and weight loss are very important for diabetics. Exercise is important in nearly any case.

Peripheral neuropathy is often worse at night. In your case it might not be bad enough yet for you to notice it during the daytime, or it might be due to the position you are in when you sleep- which makes me think it might be due to a pinched nerve given your mention of scoliosis.

This doesn't mean rubbing just any alkali on your sting will make the pain stop, it means the acid levels are more balanced and less likely to hurt. There are lots of house-hold alkalis for example barcarbonate of soda (baking soda). Gently rubbing some of this on your skin will neutralise the acidity level. No, it won't work - you need a direct insecticide. Besides which it would harm you to sleep in a bed sprayed with ammonia; it burns skin and is not good to breathe. There are much simpler, safer and effective ways!

Do NOT scratch you legs! It will make cause scabs and will be horrible! Try wrapping wet flannels around them and securing it with Sellotape -- Trust me it works! It soothes the itch and makes it all better! Just don't scratch them!

Scabies treatment will kill the insects within a day or two. Itching may persist for weeks afterwards.

It depends on the cause. If it's due to a wetness caused by sweat, then it will dry the sweat and relieve the itch. If it is caused by a rash of some kind, then your best bet would be some type of cream bought over the counter or by prescription.

Because all the white blood cells are going to fight the infection and the white blood cells come to the infected area and are near the surface of the skin causing an itching feeling.
