Will betamethasone valerage ointment help scabies?

Betamethasone valerate ointment is a topical corticosteroid primarily used to reduce inflammation and itching associated with various skin conditions. However, it is not effective in treating scabies, which is caused by an infestation of mites. The recommended treatment for scabies typically involves specific topical insecticides, such as permethrin or ivermectin. Using corticosteroids may help alleviate itching but will not eliminate the mites causing the infestation.

Remedies can only be given if one knows the cause of the problem. No one can diagnose your health problems online -- even based on the symptoms you provided.

What can i use for pruritus vulvae have suffered itching for 2 yrs and am scarred from itching?

By Mayo Clinic staff

Lichen sclerosus (LI-kun skluh-RO-sus) is an uncommon condition that creates patchy, white skin that's thinner than normal. Lichen sclerosus may affect skin on any part of your body, but most often involves skin of the vulva or skin around the anus.

Lichen sclerosus in genital area

When they do occur, lichen sclerosus symptoms may include:

  • Itching (pruritus), which can be severe
  • Discomfort, which is generally greater if lichen sclerosus appears on or around your genital or anal areas
  • Smooth white spots on your skin that may grow into blotchy, wrinkled patches
  • Tenderness of the affected areas of your skin
  • Easy bruising or tearing
  • In severe cases, bleeding, blistering or ulcerated lesions
  • Painful intercourse

The uncomfortable itching and scarring that accompanies severe lichen sclerosus may narrow the vaginal opening and affect the ability or desire to have sexual intercourse.

If this sounds like what you have, you need to see a doctor, as there is no over the counter product that can take care of this. A gynecologist that specializes in pelvic( vaginal) reconstruction or a dermatologist(wouldn't be my first choice) is your best bet. I hope this helps you.

Can Scabies Mites jump distances?

  • The Scabies Mites burrow into the skin often leaving an 'S' shape and other people can be infected only by skin-to-skin contact. Itching will occur and is worse at night. The mites are in the areas of webs of the fingers; toes; around the genital area and under the beasts in women. Your family doctor should have a look to decide what type of rash you have and then treat it. Scabies can be treated very well with sulfur ointments and since the bite from Scabies Mites is an alergic reaction in some people then antihistamines. If it is Crusted Scabies it is important to wash or dry clean all bedding; vacuum sofas, etc.
