In scientology what happens after death?
In Scientology one might view life a little differently. In some religions one had a body and one has a soul. In Scientology one views the body has a having a life of its own, and one has their own life, pretty much, as a spiritual being. One is his own soul. He doesn't have 'a soul.' He has a life that may be more than a little separate from the life of the body. The life of a spiritual being may have 1000 or more times the potential of a living body all by itself. Many times during an operation the person may have the sensation of being outside the body and these are called Out of Body Experiences (OBE's). The person may remember looking down at the body (while the body is unconscious) or looking at the body from across the room, or the sensation of going to a loved one and letting them know they are alright. (Well, maybe sort of alright at that point.) He may hear and remember conversations that go on between the doctors and nurses.
So just to review this a little, there are living cells that come from the mother and the father and these two living cells unite at conception and make one living body. This is the body only, and not the spirit, not you. Usually you as a spirit life take an interest in the baby's body much later, say about 15 minutes before birth. I don't know of a name for this specific moment in other religions, but in Scientology it is called the Assumption. Often the spirit life is not too happy with what happened before so he or she just decides in the direction of this new little body to 'be the body'. Now he or she is still him or herself, but they believe they are no more than the capabilities of this little body. Like an actor doing Hamlet. He might get really convincing. If they were a great composer in a previous life they may have fantastic capabilities, but after the Assumption, they may just feel little and helpless. All of their abilities continue. But now get the idea that the person has decided to only 'be a body'.
So that is the beginning of one life for a person, 15 minutes or so before birth, usually. Then they are born and usually remember nothing, and feel small and helpless. Sometimes not. Take a case like 'Bridey Murphy'. She could remember her previous family, until she was able to physically visit them, and verify they were alright (more less with no mom.), then she let it all go, and could from that point remember nothing but her new life as a very young girl in England.
Now what happens at death? Two things basically.
One: the living body dies. It dies kind of slowly, not all at one time. The lungs stop working, and they start to decompose. Then probably the heart stops working. This is just body stuff, not the spirit. Then the brain. It may take a year for the fingernails to finally die.
Now, for the second part: the spirit, you. At some point the spirit will lose interest in that body, or have no more purpose for this body, and will separate itself electronically from the body. When very precise tests were done it was found at the moment of death that a body tends to lose at a specific instant a certain tiny weight. That would be this moment of leaving the body. That is not death for one as a spirit. That is just leaving the body, like when one goes to sleep and feels that little jerk in their muscles sometimes, or like in that hospital room, we mentioned above. The body might be still alive and you are technically still alive. But when the person has no more purpose for that body, that would be the end of that life, as far as the spirit is concerned. When the body dies that is up to a doctor. At one time it was when the breathing stopped. But of course one could do CPR and get things going again pretty much all the time. If the heart stopped, well CPR might fix that too. If the brain stops the doctor would probably stop these days as well. But sometimes brain dead people are kept alive with machines. That's again, body stuff. If the person, the spiritual being, the spirit life has no more purpose for that body, it is dead, to him. Occasionally, someone says something cute to the body...the spiritual being after this point and something amazing happens. One man called a spiritual being back by saying in a very lecherous way, 'Boy that wife of yours looks really hot to me! I think I will go pay her a visit now that you are dead and gone! She will be grieving and will need someone to comfort her and I think she will just jump into bed with me so fast!' I apologize for being a bit crude here, but that is the kind of story that did, and might appeal to someone and bamm, their back and they start or sit up and scream at you. 'You will not have my wife!' Maybe try to kill you. That is what that guy did and got the departed soul interested enough, to slam back into the body and make it live again.
So from that point to the Assumption, 15 minutes before birth for most folks, is called the Between Lives area. Let's take a few examples: Let's say the person believes they will just die and molder away. That is a kind of weird purpose, but that does happen. The person just lays there with the embalmed body and until it molders away hundreds or maybe a thousand years. Then he probably goes into oblivion for a bit and then emotionally connects with a mother to be that has that special glow about her and he takes an interest in that... Now how about the guy who feels he is going to Hell. Well just like he can create dreams every night of his life if he wishes, he can easily create this 'Hell' for himself. Now what if this guy over a long period of time has really gotten someone in for him? This other person might have installed a little electronic pattern and thought that says, 'As soon as you have no purpose for that life, report in here.' And the person reports in to where ever 'here' happens to be. Now for a lot of people that might take about 15 minutes there, and then they get interested, one way or another in a mother with a special glow and its just happens to be 15 minutes before birth again. The game of life then starts all over for the spritual being.
Anyways, leaving out the really bad parts, that is how I see it.
Scientology stresses the application and workability of its principles and techniques. When properly practiced, Scientology enables one to develop in all aspects of life, both spiritual and temporal. It addresses the individual and brings about greater happiness and self-confidence by increasing awareness and ability. It differs from other religious philosophies in that it provides the means through which a person can effectively resolve the problems and situations faced by themselves and others.
A fundamental premise of Scientology is that Man is basically good and can improve conditions in his life. However, Scientology cannot promise to do anything by itself. Only the individual can bring about their own improvement by applying the teachings of Scientology to themselves and those around them.
Is Barack Obama a member of the Church of Scientology?
No, he is not. And there is also no evidence he ever expressed an interest in Scientology.
Is there a holy city in scientology?
The nearest equivalent of a "holy city" in scientology is Clearwater, Florida, in the United States. Clearwater is often referred to as scientology's "Mecca" and scientology has substanial property assets in the town.
However, Clearwater is not so much a holy place as an administrative centre: it is not important because of events which happen there as most holy cities are (Jerusalem for example). It is simply the place where L Ron Hubbard the founder of scientology chose to establish its administrative centre - and where the highest level "training" was to be availible.
Saint Hill Manor, near East Grinstead, in England had a similar status at one time. Scientology also maintains a ship called "The Freewinds" which is of importance because high level training is delivered there.
Scientology have any foods they are allowed and not allowed to eat?
No, Scientologists do not have to follow any diet and are not required to avoid any food.
Scientologists are however encouraged to eat and get all the nutriments they need.
In the book "Clear Body Clear Mind", L. Ron Hubbard states as follows:
" Locating and remedying deficiencies and excesses in vitamins, minerals, enzymes, sugar, protein, oil and fats, carbohydrates and bulk fiber as well as other dietary supplements is the keynote of dieting. No special substance or food or abstinence from it is a whole answer.
Diets should be considered a subject where one seeks a balance of body support elements and determines quantity. Fasting, magic foods eaten to the exclusion of others and dozens of dietary fads alike tend to be more harmful than beneficial. "
A side note:
in your question you asked "Scientology have any foods they are allowed and not allowed to eat". Scientology is the name of the religion. If you want to refer to people who practice the religion, the correct term to use it "Scientologist" (Singular) "Scientologists" (Plural).
Does anyone know a site like 9gag but has some relations with the scientology church?
Yeah, there is a website called GagTown.com see link here http://www.gagtown.com/
Is it true that Scientologists believe in Aliens?
Fundamental to Scientology is a view of Man as a spiritual being. In Scientology, the spiritual being is called the thetan. The term is taken from the Greek letter theta for "thought" or "life" or "the spirit." It is used to avoid confusion with previous concepts of the soul. The thetan is immortal and has lived-and will continue to live-through countless lifetimes. One is a thetan who has a mind and who occupies a body. The thetan animates the body and uses the mind.
Also fundamental to Scientology is a view of life as compartmentalized into urges (drives, impulses) toward survival. These are called the dynamics and number eight in all.
The First Dynamic is the urge toward existence as one's self. Here we have individuality expressed fully. This can be called the Self Dynamic.
The Second Dynamic-is the urge toward existence as a sexual activity. This dynamic actually has two divisions. Second Dynamic (a) is the sexual act itself. And the Second Dynamic (b) is the family unit, including the rearing of children. This can be called the Sex Dynamic.
The Third Dynamic is the urge toward existence in groups of individuals. Any group, or part of an entire class, could be considered to be a part of the Third Dynamic. The school, the society, the town, the nation are each part of the Third Dynamic and each one is a Third Dynamic. This can be called the Group Dynamic.
The Fourth Dynamic is the urge toward existence as or of Mankind. Whereas one race would be considered a Third Dynamic, all the races would be considered the Fourth Dynamic. This can be called the Mankind Dynamic.
The Fifth Dynamic is the urge toward existence of the animal kingdom. This includes all living things, whether vegetable or animal, the fish in the sea, the beasts of the field or of the forest, grass, trees, flowers or anything directly and intimately motivated by life. This can be called the Animal Dynamic.
The Sixth Dynamic is the urge toward existence as the physical universe. The physical universe is composed of Matter, Energy, Space and Time. In Scientology we take the first letter of each of these words and coin a word-MEST. This can be called the Universe Dynamic.
The Seventh Dynamic is the urge toward existence as or of spirits. Anything spiritual, with or without identity, would come under the heading of the Seventh Dynamic. This can be called the Spiritual Dynamic.
The Eighth Dynamic is the urge toward existence as infinity. This is also identified as the Supreme Being. This is called the Eighth Dynamic because the symbol of infinity, ∞, stood upright makes the numeral 8. This can be called the Infinity or God Dynamic.
Scientologists usually call these by number.
A further manifestation of these dynamics is that they could best be represented as a series of concentric circles, wherein the First Dynamic would be the center and each new dynamic would be successively a circle outside it. The idea of space expanding enters into these dynamics.
The basic characteristic of the individual includes his ability to so expand into the other dynamics. But when the Seventh Dynamic is reached in its entirety, one will only then discover the true Eighth Dynamic.
As an example of use of these dynamics, one discovers that a baby at birth is not perceptive beyond the First Dynamic. But as the child grows and interests extend, the child can be seen to embrace other dynamics.
As a further example of use, a person who is incapable of operating on the Third Dynamic is incapable at once of being a part of a team and so might be said to be incapable of a social existence.
As a further comment upon the Eight Dynamics, no one of these dynamics from one to seven is more important than any other one of them in terms of orienting the individual. While the dynamics are not of equal importance, one to the next, the ability of an individual to assume the beingness, doingness and havingness of each dynamic is an index to his ability to live.
The abilities and shortcomings of individuals can be understood by viewing their participation in the various dynamics.
Does scientology own the rights to Elvis music?
No they do not , most of his music is owned by Sony RCA.
What dork made up scientology?
L. Ron Hubbard, a science-fiction writer made it up. He was given the idea at a sci/fi convention over a few drinks when he asked colleagues the best way of making money. "Start your own religion", one of them said. He did, and died a rich man.
Scientology has often been accused of using dirty tricks to attract people, and to keep them. It has in fact been outlawed in some countries.
To learn more about Scientology, I suggest you start with the Wikipedia article, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology. There is also a more specific article on controversies here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology_controversies
How is scientology different from Catholics?
Scientology is the wanderings of L. Ron Hubbard who hated Christianity and came up with a bunch of wild theories about creation and man's place in it.
How much do Scientologists charge to exorcise a space alien?
There is no such thing as "exorcism of a space alien" in Scientology.
This concept is a distortion of an auditing procedure that is used by some Scientologists at high levels of "Operating Thetan".
The distortion is this -
= It is not exorcism
- It is not about Space Aliens
- You cannot "pay" to get this procedure, as it is part of a larger course of study offered by the Church of Scientology that has many predecessor courses
Operating Thetan is a course of spiritual study that begins after achieving "Clear". It typically takes several years to achieve Clear, though it is possible for some persons to complete this goal within a year.
The costs of these courses and any desired "auditing" are published by the Church of Scientology, as well as by some independent practitioners. At each step, a person makes the individual choice to take the next course, and to decide for themselves how much auditing or other supporting courses they wish to take.
Therefore, there is no "amount" that a person can "pay" to receive this or any other OT service. it must be achieved through study and practice. The only direct monetary costs are "fixed donations" (see below) for the Church's services and any books, audio sets, or videos purchased.
There are many, many auditing procedures in Scientology, all with different procedures and results. The procedures chosen and the results from them vary widely by individual.
If a person were to believe that their body was infested by space aliens and wanted to receive counseling for it, I'm sure they could find appropriate counselling for that.
The Church of Scientology has a policy of "fair exchange", which means that people should pay a fair price for what they get. All churches charge fees or request donations for their services, as that is how they support their operations. As a matter of church policy, and in line with the founder's "Doctrine of Fair Exchange", the Church of Scientology implements the "fixed donation" policy. Part of the cost of the courses may be treated as a religious donation even though it is structured as a course fee.
Alternate Answer
Scientology scripture teaches humans are immortal spiritual beings called "thetans". Thetans were originally god-like entities existing in a non-physical environment. By various means thetans spiritually degraded and became dependent on physical bodies within a material universe.
A long time ago billions of aliens, also thetans, were brought to Earth to solve an overpopulation problem in another galaxy. The aliens were killed and their spirits were gathered and psychologically manipulated to be confused. The confused alien thetans, known as "body thetans" or BTs, cluster around humans causing spiritual degradation of the human thetans. One human may have thousands of BTs.
Scientology sells parishioners training and equipment to telepathically contact BTs and convince them to leave. Pricing depends on how much processing it takes to finish the task, not on how many BTs there are. Scientology does not refer to the expulsion of BTs as exorcism.
Who is Helen Hunt, I would ask. Maybe for an Australian, like me, to ask, that may seem strange to an American who follows celebrities. However, if she is an actress or someone well known, she is entitled to her privacy, whether a Christian, Mormon, Jew, Buddhist or other. A general rule in Scientology is that celebrities are entitled to their own privacy, and if they wish to speak about their religion or experience in Scientology, it is up to them, not anyone else. I have seen this question on WikiAnswers for months, so had to answer the above. Hope this helps.
Is Clint Eastwood into Scientology?
No, Clint Eastwood is not known to be involved with Scientology. He has expressed skepticism about the organization and has not publicly identified as a member. Eastwood is more often associated with his own beliefs and values rather than any specific religious or spiritual affiliation.
What are the differences between roman catholic churches and the new religious movement scientology?
This is an intelligent question. Religion comes from Latin, meaning to fear the gods. Major religions that came off that line are Jewish, Christian and Islamic religions, and more. The 1949 Chambers dictionary is relevant here."Revealed religion, that which is derived from positive revelation by divinely inspired Scripture, or otherwise." Natural religion, that religion which is derived from nature and not revelation." This latter definition would include Buddhism Hinduism Shintoism, and more. It also includes Scientology. These definitions of religion are important. In Scientology you learn about life. You are life. Life follows certain laws. The founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard, researched these laws. These laws are natural. Mr. Hubbard made no claims to receiving divine inspiration. He teaches about life. In my church in Canberra - right this minute - I have a Mormon studying in our academy, and I also have a devout member of a a local new Christian church studying other days. I have taught Scientology to some important people in Asia. They were Hindu, Muslim Christian and Buddhist. They could see no conflict with Scientology and their own major faith. I cannot either. I have a website. It has a religious expertise in it by a Shinto scholar, whose son studied under the Pope at the Vatican. His expertise deals in Scientology and why it is a religion. Click on the page below for more data. That you for reading thus far. Rev. Nick Broadhurst, Canberra, Australia http:www.scientology-canberra.org.au/expertise.html
Truthfully, Scientologists tend not to discuss it, and have attempted to sue those who do discuss the beliefs for copyright infringement. Oddly, every other world belief system openly discusses their particular flavor of origin myth.
In essence, Scientology teaches that life on Earth is connected to the execution of billions of citizens of an ancient galactic empire. The overlord of this empire kidnapped these beings, brought them to Earth, posted them around volcanoes, and then nuked them. The immortal spirits seem to have floated around until humans developed, and then carrying all their psychic baggage attached themselves to humans, wrecking their lives.
If you join the church of Scientology, work your way up through their levels, and pay huge contributions to the church, it is said they will share the secret with you.
