Why is September 11 so important?
It's the date of the 9/11 hijacking (Plane was hijacked and flown into the side of one of the Twin Towers, minutes later it brought the second down with it).
It's more recognized because it was the largest hijacking, with the most innocent people killed. There were daycares, offices, and stores in the buildings as well.
