On this job the RSR gave direct support to the Partisans, whereas the HLI had to attack a piece of very high ground which if I remember correctly was being used for reconnaissance by the Germans and so was a threat to the raiding force. A job that the HLI were well qualified to carry out.

Both units were part of Land Forces Adriatic for op's in this theatre and LFA received much of it's tasking from the SOE.
