That depends on the state that you live in. It also depends on the specific plan within the Blue Cross Blue Shield plan offerings that you're asking about.

How much is the shingles shot?

Hi, I found this on the World Health Organization web site (info below):

"In mid-1990s, vaccines to provide "basic" coverage for tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and measles cost about US$ 1 per child."

As you can see, the polio vaccine is here included as part of a package of vaccines.

When you include transportation of vaccines and the labor to administer the vaccines, the price increases a great deal. According to the WHO web site, that package of vaccines along with hepatitis B and Hib vaccines can cost $20-40 per child.

How does shingles appear?

Shingles is caused by the chicken pox virus. It is not common in children but does occasionally happen. The pain often precedes the rash. The rash will look like groups of little fluid filled vessicles on red bases that will follow one or a few nerves.

One key to the diagnosis is that it will always be on one side of the body only except that it can slightly cross the midline in the back. If it is on both sides of the front it is unlikely to be shingles.

Does united health care cover shingles vaccine?

Maybe it's a trick by the pro-shingles lobby. The truth is no one wants you to know whether caremark covers the shingles shot. If you email Caremark, the automated e-reply you will receive is that Caremark is "working on" answering your question. (And then Caremark will "work on" this for a long, long time, and eventually you'll just give up. If you have Blue Cross insurance and ask how much your co-pay will be or what percent of the total cost for the vaccine your co-pay will be, the Blue Cross answer will be "it's complicated." Both Blue Cross and Caremark will avoid answering your direct question by very emphatically assuring you that the vaccine is "available" at "approved" pharmacies (even though your email or call is about cost and how much, not availability).

For 2800 square feet of roof how many bundles of shingles do you need?

Tough question because an 1800 sq' home has more than 1800 sq' of roof coverage, unless it has a flat roof. In which case, shingles would not be the material of choice. You need to measure the foor deck itself; either by measuring the gutter and rake (gable) edges to find square footage or, figure the pitch of your roof and calculate from there. You also have to factor in any other roof linrs such as hip roofs, shed or gable dormers, etc.. But if your roof was, in fact 1800 sq' you could figure the bundles by knowing that 3 bundles typically cover 100 sq' sooo...100/1800=18; 18x3=54

Any time you layer on top of existing shingles you cut down the life span of the new roof. (Roof gets hotter and so the materials deteriorate faster.)

So you may be able to do it (check local codes) but it isn't advisable.

If you're looking to save, you may be able to do the tear-off yourself.

I have the same thing. I got shingles right after Easter and 3 weeks later suffer from periods of nausea and loss of appitite. I take phenagren and it helps quite a lot. If it gets too bad i go to the doctor for a shot. Helps right away and usually lasts into the next day. I've lost 8 pounds . Crazy and not a fun way to lose weight.

What is the old wives' tale about how you get shingles?

A magnet placed on the spot as soon as you feel tingling generally keeps it from erupting. However, if already erupted, place the magnet on there and it generally scabs off in about 3 -7 days. Magnetics also cut pain. They seem to keep the sores from spreading too!In case it's not possible to use a magnet, try some concentrated (very salty) water on the affected area often, it may help dry the scabs quickly.
One thing that brings them on is stress...scream...YES,

What kind of felt should be used under a shingle roof?

well Synfelt is the best stuff you can use, but its also expensive. Most people nowadays dont want to spend money so while bidding a roof a roofer is probably just putting down tar paper. it works and had been used for yrs but its not as good as Synfelt. Hopefully the economy will pick up and people will start spending a little more money where roofers can bid a job accordingly.

The difference is that if they get infected, they won't get shingles.
