What is the obsessive relationship between a father and his daughter?
I am dating a man, 88yr old father, with clear mind, who is obsessed with 65yr old daughter's controlling "love" and conforms his life to please and obey her wishes. She lives about 180mi out of town. He is widowed for 5yrs and tells of daughter not being able to see him with a woman other than her mother, which he regrets and supposedly has talked to her about many times.
Most of his friends just call it politely joking, "Being a very close family"!
He has two (local) sons that like seeing him in female company and relationship. He wants a woman by his side, for dining, dancing, and spends his weekends at my house. We are very close for 3yrs and he tell's me all the time how much he loves me.
I love him very much and would love to share my life with him, even at his age.
My age is 70yrs. and I have 1 daughter that I do not allow to run my life.
4 Month into our relationship she manipulated him to move out of our same neighborhood and into a Total Care Living Community, about 12 mi away. He is in Independent Living, but has 3 meals a day there and housekeeping and Cocierge. He is as I am, VERY young for the age.
He skied 4 trips last season (3 with daughter)and I skied 2 trips with a Ski Club.
He excludes me from family events that she is present at, and that hurts me VERY MUCH.
I totally belief that we would be married for 2yrs by now, had he not been moved.
I am considering to break our relationship, because I do not see a brighter future for us together, and he cannot stand up to her.
Am I waisting my time?
I believe "love for a daughter" and "love for a woman" should thrive together!
Could he be afraid of her abandoning him at his age, if he does not live up to her wishes?
Please respond, I need some input!

What are some similarities between Jesus and John the Baptist?
they are the same.
----
Another answer:
Depends who you ask.
Some Christian denominations will say they the same.
And Some Christians will say that they different.
Islam says that they are not, not even on Par.
Jewish don't even put Jesus in the equation.
According to the Bible Jesus said that the "Father is Greater than I". From this one concludes that teh one is inferior to the other.
The only thing they have in common is the same purpose.
Answer:
The Bible makes reference to them as "Father and Son."
God made mankind "male and female"... in a "family" relationship... one family made up of many people. As mentioned above, their "purpose" is the same -- like "family sticks together" for the benefit of the family in all matters.
God calls those to whom He has given His Holy Spirit, HIS CHILDREN. That's "family."
"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD [that's family]... Heirs of God [that's family], and Joint-Heirs WITH Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that WE MAY BE ALSO GLORIFIED TOGETHER." (Rom.8:16-17 KJV)
And the Bible concludes with the same "familial" theme regarding mankind's potential to enter into [be adopted] into GOD'S FAMILY!
"...even we Christians, although we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future Glory, also groan to be released from pain and suffering. We, too, wait anxiously for that Day when God WILL GIVE US OUR FULL RIGHTS AS HIS CHILDREN, including the new bodies He has promised us - bodies that will never be sick again and will never die." (verse 23 LVB Living Bible)
"Everyone who conquers [overcometh KJV] will INHERIT all these blessings, and I will be his God and HE WILL BE MY SON." (Rev.21:7 LVB)
The "similarity" between Jesus and God is the similarity that is present between Loving, Respectful, Trusting FAMILY MEMBERS! The Father is the Head of His Household... and His "Firstborn Son"... and ALL THE REST OF HIS CHILDREN are working toward the Day when they will be revealed to the world -- and the Day when all will be rewarded with their inheritance of the Universe [all things].
It's the same "similarity" among the Father, His Firstborn Son Jesus, and all the rest of His Children:
"...we should behave like God's VERY OWN CHILDREN, adopted into the bosom of His Family, and calling to Him, 'Father, Father.'" (Rom.8:15 LVB)
God made mankind "male and female." He made them a "family" to demonstrate to man what HE IS ALL ABOUT. God is making, creating, procreating THE GOD FAMILY! That's what the Divinely-Revealed Word of God, the Bible, is about.
It's about "family." And that's the "similarity" between the Father in heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, who sits presently at His Father's right hand interceding on behalf of the rest of God's Faithful Children, who Trust Him to redeem them from the god of this world -- and from his family... the "children of disobedience" [Eph.2:2 & 5:6-7].

Similarities between the photocopier and a scanner?
A modern photocopier can be thought of as consisting of a scanner and a printer tied together. A scanner throws light on an original document and uses light detection devises to tell which parts are dark and which are light. Color scanners can tell the difference not only between black and white but between various colors. The scanner then creates an electronic file that records the light/dark or color variations in a coded form and send it to a computer, along a telephone line (as a FAX), or to a printer. The printer portion of a modern photocopier receives an electronic file coding the image of a page and converts it to instructions for illluminating a photoreceptor, which changes electrical charge when exposed to light. The printer then applies toner (dry ink) to the photoreceptor and the ink sticks where the charge holds it and falls off where the charge does not hold it. The pattern thus created is transfered to paper and stuck to the paper by application of heat and pressure. The result is a very good copy of the original.
