Why do snakes have there tongues out when they are searching for pray?

How do you remove the poison when a snake bites?

Immediately remove the victim from the vicinity of the snake, which could be panicked and continue to bite. Try to memorize the physical characteristics of the snake - this is important for later treatment - but don't attempt to capture the snake or kill it; you'll be no use to the victim if you too are bitten. Don't allow the victim to become panicked, keep reassuring them and keep them immobilized until you can reach medical aid. Remove items such as jewellery or well-fitting shoes, belts and so on, from the victim; these could restrict blood flow if the area swells. Apply compression to the wound site and apply reasonable pressure to the limb above the wound (most snakebites are on a limb). Bind a splint to the limb if possible, but ensure there is no tourniquet effect; you must not cut off blood flow. Continually check extremities - fingers and toes - and ensure they're still warm and mobile. If you have a phone, take advice from paramedics, calmly, while you're attending to the patient. Never interfere with the wound by cutting into it or attempting to suck out the venom. This is highly dangerous and in any case doesn't work. Never use ice or or alcohol at the wound site and never, ever, use a tourniquet. Antivenene is effective in most cases and the majority of victims recover given proper treatment. One more comment: the vast majority of people bitten by snakes are attacked in the process of attempting to kill or relocate a snake. Left alone, they'll simply go away. If they see you as an aggressor they will retaliate and who can blame them?

Snakes life span?

The average life span of a king cobra in the wild can be up to 20 years. They may live longer in captivity, away from stress and danger.

Why do crayfish shed their skin?

Crayfish shed their shells because they are growing. they do not shed their skin, but rather the inflexible shell on top. Because it is inflexible, it cannot grow with the crayfish and they have to make new ones. Replacing a shell is called "molting". crayfish and other crustaceans molt more when they are young and are growing faster. Hope this helps!

What are the effects of rattlesnake bites in cattle?

Rattlesnake bites are very toxic, and can be toxic enough to kill a cow. If that cow has a calf at her side, you will have an orphan calf to deal with. If she's pregnant, then the fetus dies with her.

However, if the cow lives and instead develops a serious infection, this could cause her to abort the fetus inside her, and even kill the fetus. As for the calf at her side, milk quality and quantity will be affected. Infections are serious, and tend to reduce milk quality and quantity, and leave with a very hungry calf that cannot suckle from his momma. Usually rattler bites are so serious that the cow has to be put down eventually, and the calf needs to be cared for and/or put on a surrogate cow.

What does it mean if a snake is wrapped around your arms?

Snakes are cold blooded and require warmth from my experience (I own a corn snake and a couple other snakes) it means they are getting warmth from you. So if it wraps around your arm I guess you could consider it cuddling.

What is the biggest snake in the world?

It should fall in the group PYTHON.There lie two groups.Python reticulatus (one with a slim but longer body stature.)and Python molurus (a bit flabby and muscular and stunt.) The greatest variety should come from these groups. Another contender for this spot is Anaconda from south America. But to tell the greatest among these seems awfully restricted due to the fact that,we are yet to discover the greatest among the snakes in the wild.
