In short the answer is NO. Only the PS3 60 GB can play PS2 games. This is the only model of PS3 that has backwards compatibility with the PS2.

The answer is still no, but more PS3 models can play the PS2 and the details follows:

The 20 GB PS3 could play PS2 games and so could the 60 GB model that was released with it and those machines are called the first generation PS3 Models. The second Generation PS3 model were the 60 GB Model and the 80 GB model and while they could play the PS2 games it was based on Partially software-based PS2 emulation while the earlier models were Hardware-based PS2 emulation. These 1st and 2nd generation PS3 models all included 4 USB ports and also had Flash memory card readers. The 3rd generation of PS3 models had the 40 GB, the 80 GB, and the 160 GB Harddrives but only 2 USB ports and do not play PS2 games with backward compatibility. The fourth Generation of PS3s are the 120 GB and 250 GB PS3 slim model which do not play PS2 games with Backward Compatibility. All PS3 models play PlayStation 1 Games and do so through software emulation.

take it to a dealer and see if they can fix it .the laser could be just dirty .if so run a cleaner through it that should clean the laser

A couple of things

-The disk could be bad and needs to be replaced

- Some of the PS2 older format games need to spin at faster rates, standing up the PS2 helps with spin speed. This is the blue disk format. Eventually all new games used a different format.

- Clean the lense with an alcohol swab. If you have the PS2 slim, cleaning the lense is no problem. If you have the old version of the PS2, a lense cleaner may do the trick if the lense is not so dirty that everything is unreadable. If that doesn't work, the only other solution is to look at online guides about how to disassemble your PS2 and clean the lense.

-If it's not a dirty lense, and it's not the disk, there is some other hardware problem much more difficult to fix.

You cannot really download them from the internet directly to your ps2 per say. Even if you download them and make a copy on a disk they will not work.

It talks about a few ways to do what I think you are asking. If you have an old PS2 (fat) you can put a hard drive in it. If you have a slim one (new) you have to get an external hard drive.

No only Sony PS2 and early PS3 with 4 USB ports can play PlayStation games. PS2 games were not designed for PC to play. They computer does not have the software to run the games and the hardware is not programmed and designed like a Gaming console.

Toothpaste! Toothpaste DOES in fact, WORK!

You'd be surprised at how well this common household gel will buff out scratches on your beloved game.

However, this process may take awhile

All you need is toothpaste (With baking soda, as it helps to "sand" out the scratches) and some Q-tips.

I would start out with putting the toothpaste in a small cup, then getting comfortable. (again this process takes some time)

apply the toothpaste to your Q-tip and start at the outer edge of the CD.

Slowly apply it in small circles in towards the inner edge of the disk.

Do this until you've covered the entire CD.

As soon as you feel that you've applied it enough, rinse it under water. I would rinse it twice, just to make sure that you haven't left any toothpaste on the CD.

Let it air dry, so you don't end up adding more scratches to it.

The results are quite visible to, I was astonished when I first tried it and noticed that the majority of scratches were completely gone.

this happened to me before when I would always leave to go to my moms, we would turn it off and the red light would appear. but my dad not knowing that it was off turned the whole system off in the pack. which fried the laser that reads my disc we sent it in to service at the Sony ps3 website and got it back 2 - 3 weeks later.

You can get a flashcard for your DS. All you need to do then is to put the games you want to play into a Micro SD card and then put the micro sd into the flashcard and put the flashcard into your DS and start playing.

With a wii u take out the charger thingy and charge both ur remotes. Once they're charged put the wii sensor somewhere you can point to it easily while playing whatever game ur trying to play.( Make sure u plugged it up.) then u turn it on and play. Honestly whatever game console u bought probably has /no no../ DOES HAVE. instructions. And just like ur reading this. U need to READ those instructions. Hope those instructions that I hope ur taking my advice on reading helps. There's usually a table of contents if u need to find something pacific

There could be a thousand problems at hand. Just asking why won't it work isn't enough for anyone to accurately give you an asnwer.

If you mean, can you save, while playing a game, to flash drive instead of memory card, then the answer is NO. A PS2 game will always look for a memory card, usually in slot 1. You could always buy just 1 card, then use AR MAX or Codebreaker to transfer all the saves to flash drive for storage purposes. But you would need to transfer a save back to memory card if you wanted to play a saved game again.

Electronics still have to imported from Japan just like USA imports so it's still around the same price as USA. Electronics are not cheap in Thailand but everything else is that is made there like gems, jewelry, furniture.

COMMENTS: This is incorrect. The WII is much more expensive in Thailand than in the US. I have been shopping for one around and I am amazed at the prices. Tesco Lotus is the most expensive, at Baht 19,000 (USD 575) for the basic console with one remote and no games. The shops at fortune tower, on Rama 9, also a ripoff, at minimum Baht 14,500 (USD 440) for the basic one. I found a store in Latprao Soi 7, in the Carrefour shopping area, where they asked for Baht 11,500 (USD 350) for the same US version with the Sports disk. They want Baht 2,500 (USD 45 for additional remote). Someone mentioned MBK. I doubt it will be cheaper. In general, electronics are more expensive here than in the US.

Personally, i think the Sims Castaway is a brilliant game and i think is much better than the sims 2, you can do so much cool stuff!

Downloading retail games, like those sold for Nintendo's Gamecube, without the proper liscencing, is illegal. Not only that, but you would need an emulator to play the games on your computer, since they were origionaly formatted to be played on the console system. Emulators that would work are also illegal without the proper liscencing from Nintendo. It would be best to just buy a Gamecube system and the games you want to play.
