I mail my letters with stamps from the 60's. Only high denominations and other oddities from this era can bring any value to the stamps. Use it as postage.

Whatever the first class rate of postage is on the day you use it to mail a letter.

The price of a First Class Stamp in 1974 changed. It was 8 cents. It was good for one ounce of First Class Postage. It went up to 10 cents on March 2, 1974.

There is only one Forever Stamp, it pictures the US Liberty Bell and says First Class Postage. It is good only for the first ounce of a letter, anything more in weight requires additional postage.

There are many other non-denominated stamps that may say First Class Postage, but they are not Forever Stamps, they were created for a specific rate. These stamps are still valid for that amount of postage, but they must be supplemented to make the full rate necessary.

The cost was 32 cents at the beginning of 1999. That covered the first ounce of weight. It was raised to 33 cents on January 10th, 1999.

Scott #3178 A mint example can be purchased for around $12. A first day cancellation on the item might bright a few more dollars.

The cost of a post card stamp in 1984 was 13 cents. It was raised from 12 cents in November of 1981. It stayed at that price until February 1985.

Not legally! It is a Federal crime in the US to reuse postage.

It is also difficult because the wavy edges of the stamp mean that when you try to take it of it will rip of the edges. There is also sometimes two cuts in the middle that will also make the stamp tear if you try to remove it.

The 1946 Lincoln 1 cent 'penny' has a value based on condition.
If the 'penny has been in circulation, also, depending on the "grade" of the penny, (the condition), its minimal value would be 1 cent. This would be in very worn condition.

However, should the penny be in mint state condition, and, depending on if it has been graded by a reputable coin grading service, it would be worth more. (Not enough to retire on, tho)!

First Day Covers typically run $1 to $2 each depending on condition and who made them.

Pretty much anything you could need. Many post offices have a complete set of stamps from one cent up to a dollar. The link below will show you the variety available.

A series of 6 cent Bill Stamps were issued. The value varies, depending on which one, mint or used and condition. There were 3 issues of the Bill Stamp: First Bill issue has a very young Cameo style image of Queen Victoria on it and is blue. The value is anywhere from $17 for a very good mint copy to $3 for a good used.

The Second Bill Issue has a slightly different Queen Victoria design and is red. Value for VG Mint hovers around $10 and $1 for used.

The Third Bill Issue is very distinctive. It shows Queen Victoria in her "widow's weeds". Can't miss this one, its shows the Victoria we are used to seeing - rather plump and forbidding. The stamp is green and the price ranges from $1.25 for Mint and .35cents for used to a $750 for a Mint with a watermark ($400 for used). You need watermark fluid to tell if it's watermarked. Sometimes if you hold it up to a light, you can make out the watermark on the back.

There are many one cent documentary stamps which were issued by the Internal Revenue.

I would recommend that you visit your local library and pick up a copy of "Scott Specialized Catalogue of United States Stamps and Covers".

If you look towards the back of the book, there is a section of "Revenues" with the numbers starting with "R___". You should be able to find it listed there.

"What is this stamp worth - what is its value" is a very common question here.
The value of a stamp depends on many factors, one of which is are you buying or selling?
If your mind is set or getting just this one particular stamp, you should be able to find a dealer who will sell you one for 1.00 a mint copy or 20 cents for a very fine used copy.
This stamp is scarcer than many because it is part of a 5-member se-tenant set.

If you have one to sell-- just one has almost no value unless it is mint, in which case you use it for postage at its face value. It would be hard to get any cash for it. If it is used, just one has almost no value unless you can find someone who needs it for his collection. Some dealers do buy such stamps, but they want large quantities and the buying price for this stamp used would be $1.00 to $2.00 per hundred, postpaid to them grouped in large lots, say $50 worth. If mint you might be able to sell for face, or even a slight premium if you have sheets or large numbers of singles.

98¢ for the first ounce for First Class. The US Postal Service sends all First Class via airmail now, there is no cheaper method, and no longer a special airmail rate.

Stamps by Deutsche Post that say 200 Deutschland or 390 etc, are read as 2,00 Euro or 3,90 Euro etc.
