How long does smoked meat steaks last out of the fridge?
In general, smoked meat steaks, or any food for that matter, should not stay out of the fridge for more than 4 hours. This is because foods that sit at room temperature are in the Temperature Danger Zone (TDZ for short), which ranges from 41oF to 135oF. Since the average room temperature is between 60oF and 72oF, room temperature foods have a much higher chance of collecting germs that will grow in the food (like a smoked meat steak) than if it is left in the fridge, which has an average temperature of 25oF to 34oF, which is outside the TDZ.

How do you dethaw a tbone steak fast?
Just throw it on the barbie, it'll thaw and cook fast with no loss of flavour.
probably. remember, back in the days before meat tenderizers like MSG (Accent) people used to hang meat up for up to a week to soften the flesh. that way it wasnt tough to eat. so, trust your nose and only worry about previously-frozen foods if they have"freezer burn" or have been frozen more than once. I'd probably eat that steak!

What is the best cooking oil to use for steaks?
You can use almost any kind of oilt I like to use one with a neutral flavour and a high smoke point. So simple canola or soybean oil is my choice, or grapeseed oil if you have it. These oils won't break down at high-temperatures, and don't compete with the flavour of the steak.

If you *really* needed to defrost a steak in five minutes, you can either use the defrost setting on a microwave (watch it carefully), or you can place it in a moderately hot bowl of water while it is still in the packaging.
Ideally you would leave the steak out in the kitchen for as long as it takes to get to room temperature. Frozen steaks should be left overnight, or all day, and chilled steaks about an hour.
