There is a risk after this of developing pneumonia so if you develop fever/chills wheezing, shortness of breath see your doctor. I take two 15mg Prevacid a day and rarely have problems. I say rarely, but I'm up tonight playing the aspiration game. I ran out of Prevacid yesterday. My fault!

Yes, Sulfonamides should be taken on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. IF you do have GI upset then eat a small snack.

doc when i was 16 years old i drink nitric acid. so my esophagus is burn, and doc inserted ryles tube throuh my nose but after 2 month another docter removed ryles tube and tested at that time i drink water normally and they suggest me to eat banana which is helpfull to give a complete relif to healing my burn esophagous . Avoid sugar and use senna leafs once a week when at home to cleanse your system for few weeks. Senna leafs can be found at most spanish stores. Boil the leafs and drink the water. After few hours, diarrhea will follow, so stay at home. You may also try probiotic supplements.

It could be many things.

1. Constipation. If you are constipated, this can cause severe cramping. Try and take Milk of Magnesia or see your doctor for more options.

2. Pulled muscle. If you work out regularly and concentrate on lower stomach muscles, you could have pulled a muscle. Try and rest and cut back on strenuous working out.

3. Lactose intolornace. If you are unable to digest dairy products well, this is what happens.

4. Irritable Bowl synrome: This causes cramps, constipation, diahrrea, and stomach pain. Talk to your doctor for options on how to calm it.

5. Pregnacy. This can be a sign of pregnancy sometimes. Normally the cramping is mild.

6. If you start to vomit or have bloody bowl movements, see your doctor immediatly. This could be a sign of a tumor or an intestinal rupture.

Call your doctor if:

The cramping last more than a week

You vomit, vomit blood or have bloody stools

If you have a high fever or dizziness.

My sister was unfortunate enough to have this happen to her. She suffered from delayed gastric emptying -- basically her digestive system didn't move food through. She went through virtually all formulas on the market and ended up going to IV nutrition. If the question is looking for what you can do to address intolerance, here's some ideas:

If the problem is an emptying problem like hers or a malabsorption problem, they have "elemental" formulas that are already partially broken down, so it's easier for the body to digest. So, that is one option. Another option is adding things to the formula or taking medications to address whatever issues the formula is causing. So, if it's constipation for example, there's powdered fiber you can add. If the problem is an intolerance to the ingredients, there's a great formula called Compleat that contains mostly real food. Some people also actually puree and make their own tube food. Obviously, it's important to consult your doctor before trying anything new and to regularly check up on the patient's nutritional health.

If none of those options work and no formula or supplement combinations work, there is an option of IV nutrition. You can actually get full nutrition through your veins. It's not ideal and there are risks and side effects, but it can be a relief to someone who's been miserable on tube feedings.
