What are the effect of stress on rhumatoid arthritis?
As we do not yet understand the cause for RA it is difficult to make an entirely definitive comment on the effect of stress on RA. Any theory's on this are purely anecdotal. However having suffered from this disease myself for many years, I would suggest that there is a definite connection between The severity of the symptoms of RA flaring up and stress. Getting into stressful situations, arguments, or having worrisome issues festering in the back ground should be avoided.
Do reality show affect society?
It shows how completely bored they must be with their lifes and how totaly out of touch society must be getting with real reality.

What affect does advertising have on children?
Advertising and media does have an effect on children since many companies spend millions of dollars convincing kids that their product is the best and coolest thing out there, but what also lies in the way is the fact that it can also affects how kids look at themselves and can affect self esteem and image as well.
the above is a general idea and does not effect all children in the same way, depending on a child's primary and secondary socialisation and indeed the environment they have been bought up in will also effect how effect an advert is on a child; children from countries where advertising is shown to children are less likely to grow in to adults who believe entirely in an advert and therefore creates a much more consumer savvy market when said child reaches an age where they have a disposable income of there own.
it has good and bad effects.

How do you know if you're being toyed with emotionally?
It's all in how you feel. If you feel like you are being toyed with you probably are. In my experiences that has usually been the case. If someone toyes with you they are not worth the effort in my book.
Can teenagers take antidepressants without there parents consent?
You would be perfectly able to seek help (not particularly medical) without parental approval. There's nothing stopping you from walking into a clinic and asking if you can make an appointment etc. it just depends on what form of help you want to try. If you choose to get help through medication etc. then depending on your countries laws, you may need the written or signed consent of your parent or guardian. But there are many ways to get help which don't require approval, such as; counselling groups and personal methods such as changing your diet or finding a form of release. There are loads, but again nothings stopping you from asking, you don't require parental approval to ask for help. And if you really are worried about parental approval, you can ask before even telling them your worries if they have a complete confidentiality policy and wont inform your parents of what's discussed. Then you can ask for about diagnosis and treatments etc.
Also depending on your age and country, there are completely anonymous methods of seeking help such as online sites (official though, such as 'NHS Direct' and 'Samaritans' in the UK) and support-lines, most of which are free of charge. But they will always mention that an online diagnosis is impossible and only a qualified physician can diagnose you and prescribe medication, but they are always a good place to start.
What is the difference between ultimate tensile stress and ultimate shear stress?
Tensile Strength for a Bolt is determined by applying a Force along it long axis. Shear Strength for a Bolt is determined by applying a Force across its diameter, as it would be loaded in a lug joint. Tensile strength is strength in tension when pulling force is applied. And shear strength is strength against cutting force which is known as shear force.
What is the difference between stress and depression?
In one sentence, stress is one of the main causes of depression. Being under stress causes many negative psychological reactions which lead to the depressive condition. The difference between a person who is not depressed and one who is depressed is that the person without depression are able to bounce back from the effects of the stressful situations once they have stopped. On the contrary, the depressed individual will continue to wallow in the negative emotions even once the stressors are no longer there. With stress as a contributing cause, it would be a stressor that was present over a prolonged period of time that would cause the depression.
What is the relationship between stress and strain?
Stress is the load per unit area acting within a material. It can be thought of as the internal resistive response of a material to an externally applied pressure.
Strain is the change in shape of an object in response to external pressure or internal stress. To complicate matters, strain causes the transmission of stress through an object (as in simple terms the strain causes an internal "movement" causing one part of the inside of an object to press against the material next to it generating stress in this region, this in turn can cause more strain and so on!).
There are a number of differing types of strain, for example axial strain is defined as the change in length relative to the original length of an object (e.g. a steel wire being stretched). This change in shape is also called deformation. Volumetric strain occurs when an object is squashed or pulled on all sides leading to a change in volume.

What are some uses of a scotch yoke mechanism?
This setup is most commonly used in control valve http://www.answers.com/topic/actuator in high pressure http://www.answers.com/topic/pipeline-transport.
A localized compressive stress at the area of contact between two components which r not having relative motion between them, is known as crushing stress.
What is the ratio of average shear stress to maximum shear stress for a circular section?
the average shear stress is 3/4 the maximum shear stress for a circular section
What is difference between shearing stress and crushing stress?
Tension stress tends to pull a material apart and acts normal to its cross section plane.
Shear stress tends to shear a material apart and acts in the plane of its cross section plane.
Crushing stress tends to push a material and acts normal to its cross section plane, in the opposite direction of tension. Crushing stresses are compressive stresses and could also be bearing stresses.
For a material laoded in pure tension, shear exists at 45 degrees along the cross section plane and is 1/2 the tensile value. For pure shear, tension exists 45 degrees along the cross section plane and is equal to the shear value.
Most all metals are stronger in tension than in shear, by a factor of about 1.7.
Some materials, like chalk or concrete, are stronger in shear than in tension. If loaded in shear, they will break intension 45 degrees along the cross section

Where is the maximum stress in a ring which is under tension?
The maximum stress in a ring under tension occurs at the point on the ring that is farthest from the center. This is because the force of the tension is distributed evenly around the circumference of the ring, and the points on the ring that are farthest from the center have to support more of the tension due to their greater distance from the center. As a result, the stress is highest at these points and decreases towards the center of the ring.

Why is your grandpa so grumpy?
One of the reasons old people are so grumpy is because with all their age and wisdom, young ones don't listen to them. They feel upset and disrespected for that. Also their bodies and minds don't work the way it did when they were younger and that is also a cause of irritation. They have also seen so much of unnecessary tragedy in their lives which makes them upset. And the final reason is that they can get away with it.
