I have been taking lamictal and suboxone for 22days now and this is what was prescribed to me so as far as I know its safe, I have had no side effects.

The answer is no. While buprenorphine is much more powerful than hydrocodone, it is a partial agonist meaning it will bind to the receptors in your brain and lock in, not allowing any other opiates to react until the buprenorphine has worn off. Combined with a buprenorphine tolerance, it may take individuals as long as 5-7 days before they can actually feel the analgesic effects of other opiates, as buprenorphine has a slightly longer half life than other known prescription opiate painkillers.

I was told by the clinic that I attend to received my Methadone that it IS safe to take prednisone while taking Methadone. I am currently on my second prescription of prednisone and a Z-pack antibiotic for a chest cold and this time as with the last time I was on the antibiotics, the swelling in my hands, legs and feet that I have had due to the Methadone has gone completely away!! I have been having the side effects of extreme swelling and water retention since being on methadone, to the point to where I can hardly get my body out of the bed in the mornings, my joints ache and if I sit still for long periods of time the fluid in my body from the swelling settles in my legs, feet and joints so when I go to get up it usually takes me a minute or two, literally, to stand up and be capable of walking b/c I am so sore...but the prednisone makes that all go away within 48 hours of the medicine being in my system. I began my round of the predisone 2 days ago and this morning I awakend with NO fluid on my body and have felt WONDERFUL today!! I don't know if the results of this are typical for everyone, but I know it has made a HUGE difference for me and I feel just fine, no other side effects...but the bad part about this is about 5 days AFTER I complete my round of the prednisone the fluid slowly begins to build back up in my body resulting in the terrible pain and discomfort of the fluid retention...also, I am not sure if the dose mg makes a difference in how bad the swelling becomes, I have yet to ask my doctor that question...anyway, I hope my statement helps anyone who was asking about taking the two meds together!

Its pointless to take percocet while taking suboxone because suboxone blocks all of your reseptors in your body so the narcodic from the percocet cant get in your reseptors, its a waste of percocets

my psychiatrist gave me Suboxone 8mg/2mg , I also take Vicodin 5/500mgs for breakthru pain, is this safe?? and how long do I have to wait to take a vicodin, well, actually it would be hydrocodone the generic for the vicodin, to work on my pain??

depends on the amount you took prior to the test. normally you should wait at least 7 days after stopping Lortab to take a drug test. This time frame normally ensures the test will not be affected. Always make sure to notify the person administering the test that you took medication.

I was presrcibed phentermine today and I am also on suboxone. The doctor said it is ok to take as long as I go to the doctor every two weeks for a checkup. I did some research and phentermine is a controlled substance in the U.S., it is legal here and its also an anphentamine which means it's easilly addictive. If your on suboxone for being addicted to something else, your doctor will probably have a hard time giving it to you. That is why I have to go every two weeks for a check up. They are ok to take together but there are major side effects. Some people have arymthia's in their heart.. including sinus arythmya, which taking phentermine with an arythmia can be deadly. I would suggest getting and EKG before taking phentermine to make sure you dont have one!I know there are people who would take phentermine without a doctors knowledge and I would highly suggest NOT doing it!! Def, get checked by a doctor first to make sure you wont have complications!! I am not a doctor, but this is the information I was told! So please see a doctor before taking phentermine alone, yet again while taking suboxone at the same time!!

No, suboxone cannot get into your system by touching it. This drug has to mix with your saliva or it won't be effective. You place it under your tongue for about 5 to 10 minutes until it dissolves.

The only way to take Suboxone is to dissolve it under your tongue. Swallowing it won't work, because it won't dissolve in your stomach. And don't even think about crushing it up and snorting it or smoking it; it simply does not work that way. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi and just found out they cover it. See the funny thing is, doctors are gonna tell you they dont take insurance because they dont make as much money making claims with insurance companies. THEY ARE LIARS!!! If you go to the doctor and they say no, call your insurance company to see. Sometimes the insurance company will reimburse you if the doctor wont take insurance. I have spent thousands of dollars over 3 years of being on suboxone to just find out i could have saved that money!!!!

Probably not from the Sub, but you probably will have w/d's from the drugs you took that required you to be on Sub. All the Sub did was prolong your withdrawal for 5 days. Now if your taking Subs for 5 days recreationally, and had no dependence problem prior, then your probably safe.

Yes. Suboxone is a synthetic opiate, and you become addicted to it just like any other opiate drug. Going cold turkey from it is no fun at all. That's one of the reasons that suboxone replacement therapy is not a good idea. If a person runs out, they are likely to turn back to heroin or other opiates to avoid the withdrawal syndrome.
