Should a person take more than 24 mg per day, a person may experience mental impairment due to the life of the drug that stays in a person's body. After taking your prescribed dose for a few days, the physician should start a taper. As a person continues to use Suboxone at doses as high as 24 mg per day, the drug is continuing to increase in the persons body and does cause some of the same issues as an opiate (which it is an opiate). Overdose can occur with higher levels of the drug being used for extended periods of time. The safety factor with Suboxone is the ceiling effect it has on the respiratory system. This does not mean that the drug will not cause a "high" effect. It only means the safety of causing respiratory depression in an individual is safer with the ceiling effect built into the drug Suboxone.

If you are a recreational user you may be able to get a high, but it's not going to be a good high like you get with heroin, morphine, fentanyl, or oxycontin).

So most people don't cause themselves to overdose because they notice that they feel the same with 48 mgs in their system as they do with 32 mgs. That is, at least, my understanding of how the drug works, which was explained to me by my doctors.

this answer varies for every individual. other variables are: how many mg of suboxone are you taking, and for how many days or weeks have you been using suboxone regularly? So my results may differ slightly, or greatly, from your own. Just from my experience on 4 mg of suboxone after just a one day dose... i know that i can get a "full" effect from oxycodone when waiting 12 hours after my sub dose. I can get close to the full effect at 10 hours after the sub. And i experienced a mild, probably half effect when only waiting 9 hours after the suboxone. Keep in mind, that's after just a single suboxone dose. also, those effects are reached only by iv use. any other way isn't going to cut it.

honestly, you're just gonna have to try and see what happens because it varies for everyone(i have a friend who takes a sub every morning, then enjoys 60mg of oxy 3 hours later? go figure) start with the 12 hour wait or longer.

Well I'm trying to figure this out right now. I was prescribed a bottle of promethazine syrup with codeine earlier today. I know suboxone blocks the effects of opiates so I'd figure it wouldn't do anything, but I'm hoping the promethazine by itself will potent the effects of the suboxone. I really hope so.

Oxycodone by itself does not reduce fever.

Many forms of oxycodone (specifically Percocet/Percodan, Vicodin, or Roxicet) contain a percentage of acetaminophen (a.k.a Tylenol), which is a pain reliever/fever reducer. Together, these two drugs work stronger and the Tylenol can reduce a fever.

Yeah you can just not as much. Its not designed to let you but if u take two you will. If you mix the two you better watch out for that precipitated withdrawal. It will leave you with nowhere to turn. Precipitated withdrawals are way worse than normal withdrawals. Good luck!

Suboxone is a Semi-synthetic chemical called Buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is most commonly used as a maintenance drug for opiate dependent persons.

It is a medication derived from a synthetic poppy material Thebaine.

Buprenorphine is available as a sublingual (under the tongue) film

&SL tablet in 2mg & 8mg doses with .5mg and 2mg naloxone (an opiate antagonist) added to deter IV injection by opiate dependent users through precipitating opiate withdrawal or 'dope sickness'.

Not readily so, like with tablets. The answer is no. However, it is possible and somewhat likely that some clever addict will figure out a simple process for turning the film back into powder. Yes, a non opiate dependent person can get reasonably loaded off subs. Trust me, I've witnessed friends puke, nod out and pupils pinned off a low 2 mg dose.

Actually the answer is YES. place a film on a hard surface like a spoon. drop about 4 drops of water on the film (just enough water to cover the film). let it dissolve and stir it with something small and pointy. Get a straw and cut it to about 3 inches length.. Sniff the liquid and tilt your head back to allow the liquid to run into your sinus.. It still takes anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes... Enjoy!

Suboxone will not adequately treat Xanax withdrawal, since the two drugs act very differently in your body. Suboxone is a partial opioid agonist while Xanax deals with GABA. Suboxone does not deal with GABA and Xanax does not deal with opioid receptors.

Looking for advice from possibly someone that may have been in my place before.Until 3 days ago I was on MD 100mg for 12 years.I am now taking 3 tabs of suboxone(8mg) a day. I also drink alcohol daily(35+ years),I'm 47 yrs old. I also take xanax(1mg) and adderol(20mg)daily, both for last 5 years.YEA,I've got a problem.Anyway,i want to get rid of them 1 at a time. I know most would say do it all at once but I cant miss that much work as I'm sure it would take ALONG time. Thinking I know all I made the mistake of taking my first suboxone only 36 hours after my last dose of Methadon(100mg). DEFINATELY the worst w/d in my life.Feeling good then 10 min.s later puking,chills,convulsions(luckily my wife was there to help).That was yesterday(or day before)Sorry, my memorys shot from all the xanax's I've been taking.Even those wont let me sleep,and I have been taking over 10X my reg dose every few hours.Sub blocking that too? I hadnt taken my adderall til about an hour ago and it helped me at least get up and move alittle.I'm going to drink a few beers and see if that helps.Will Sub block alcohol too? I still feel like crap,cant move much.I have plenty 8mg Suboxones, will taking more than 3 help?Shooting them?As u can tell I'm desperate. I have to go back to work tomarrow and want to know if anyone has any helpful advice(besides putting my Glock to my temple-lol)? thanks in advance

There is no correct answer to this question. I was prescribed 90mg of adderall per day at once. It depends on the person, and what all other factors may go into account. But speaking from experience as i am a drug addict, I've taken up to 3000(not 300, but 3 thousand)milligrams of adderall within a 5 day period. But i am not in any way recommending you do this. That would be very stupid. 70mg in a 24 hour period sounds relativlely safe to me tho.

It depends how many Mg of methadone you're on & how long you've been on it. You don't want to take suboxone for about 3 days from the start of the withdrawal symptoms. If you start the suboxone before then, it will make you sick.

you can take 3 suboxones a day. taken more than 3 will not help you anybetter so once you have taken 3 your at the peak and will not go any higher..

No. Suboxone is used for opiate addicts trying to get off the opiates without withdrawals. It also helps with cravings.

I have been taking less that 8mg suboxone daily this morning I took two 7.5 but hydrocodone still have a headache and sick due to sinus infection, can I take 1/4 th strip of suboxone now and not be sick ( withdrawls)

Nothing. If you took it too soon after taking the sub, you might feel a tinge of withdrawals, but if you took it 6 hours or later after taking the sub, you'd feel nothing. Depending on your dose and how long you've been taking sub, you'd probably have to wait anywhere from 24-48 hours before being able to feel the effects of another opioid.
