Suboxone

Suboxone is a combination product containing buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine is an opiate agonist meaning it resembles codein and morphine, etc. but does not produce the high that those drugs would. Naloxone is an opiate antagonist meaning it blocks those receptors from allowing you to have a high. Naloxone is in the combination to prevent patients from injecting suboxone since when injected, naloxone causes the patient to express extreme withdrawal effects. The key is, though, that when taken appropriately under the tongue, naloxone will not interfere with buprenorphine. Buprenorphine can then allow the addict to satisfy an urge without worsening the problem by causing as much addiction as something like morphine would. Essentially you get a fix of opiate, but it easier to be weened off of.

No it will not. On your standard urine text the buprenorphine nor the naloxone witch make up the suboxone will not.register for any of the drugs they test for. If it is a test they are sending out to a lab it will show up but they usually have to be looking for it .. it will not show up as a opiate tho

Yes, if you snort Suboxone it will work.

It should work just as well under the tongue, as long as you keep it held there tight under the tongue the whole time and do not speak or let it wash out before it's absorbed.

No way, Not a chance. Wait at least 72 hours after taking your last suboxone before you take any opiates\opioids, otherwise you could go into a bad withdrawl from the naloxone in suboxone, or more common, you will just waste the morphine, it will have ZERO effect so dont even bother.

No Suboxone will not block the use of opiates on a drug test. It will still show up, but you won't get the feeling from the opiates. You will however get into trouble if you are being prescribed Suboxone.

That depends on whether you are taking the morphine recreationally (to get high), or if you are taking it for pain.

If you are taking it to get high, then no, it won't work. You will have to wait at least 36 hours, but probably more like 48 to 72 hours, until the Suboxone is out of your system, before you can feel the effects of the morphine.

If you are taking it for pain, then yes, it should still work as a painkiller, even though it won't get you high.

I am heroin addicted that is actually quitting. I started yesterday, this will be my 5th time,, because I didn't have a choice those times. I am so ready, and I hope you are too, now with suboxone, take an 8 milligram and then and then, take 4 milligrams 12 hours later, but people usually start by for the first like 3 days taking the 8 milligram strip and then start reducing and tapering down from 8 to 4 then cut it again, and it will be about 2 mg and that should be good after a few days of doing that, I mean you're not going to feel too great after the taper, but it's a great thing you're doing. What state do you live in? Here where I live, in Portland Oregon they have so many places that help get you on the suboxin and then off of it within a week or two it depends on the person. Neither of these drugs are tested for in a standard 5 panel drug test. However they can be tested for if your p.o suspects that you are using drugs and has you take an expanded drug test

on regular 5 panel drug test it doesn't show up. those are the drug tests that most places (probation, drug treatment places) use the other tests are very expensive and they don't use them. I'm not sure if it even shows up on one of the other tests. I've been on suboxene for awhile now and taken alot of drug tests and it doesn't show up.

Yes, Suboxone, Prestiq, and Abilify can safely be taken together. Suboxone AKA buprenorphine is used as a maintenance medication for opiate addiction. Prestiq is an antidepressant that works differently than SSRI's. Prestiq blocks two main chemicals in the brain one of which is serotonin. Lastly, Abilify in the beginning was used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. In recent test Abilify has been shown to work very well with other antidepressants namely Prestiq.

It depends on the death. There are types of death that can cause or are caused by vomiting.

I've taken 4 drug tests while on suboxone, and it has never come up.

These tests included: pre-empoyment drug screen, DUI blood screen, and 2 urine tests for my job.

Suboxone has NEVER come up. Drink water, but be safe. Too much water can kill you.

Suboxone does not show up on drug tests (see the Related Question below), so, it shouldn't be an issue. They'd have to specifically test for it, which, according to what I've heard from my doctor, and from the Related Question, is extremely rare. It does not show up as an opiate on drug tests.

But even if they did specifically test for it, you aren't doing anything illegal if a doctor is prescribing it for you.

It is virtually impossible, although technically it can happen. The potential for respiratory overdose is very low. Should a person take more than 24 mg per day, a person may experience mental impairment due to the life of the drug that stays in a person's body. After taking your prescribed dose for a few days, the physician should start a taper. As a person continues to use Suboxone at doses as high as 24 mg per day, the drug is continuing to increase in the persons body and does cause some of the same issues as an opiate (which it is an opiate). Overdose can occur with higher levels of the drug being used for extended periods of time. The safety factor with Suboxone is the ceiling effect it has on the respiratory system. This does not mean that the drug will not cause a "high" effect. It only means the safety of causing respiratory depression in an individual is safer with the ceiling effect built into the drug Suboxone.

If you are a recreational user you may be able to get a high, but it's not going to be a good high like you get with heroin, morphine, fentanyl, or oxycontin).

So most people don't cause themselves to overdose because they notice that they feel the same with 48 mgs in their system as they do with 32 mgs. That is, at least, my understanding of how the drug works, which was explained to me by my doctors.

this answer varies for every individual. other variables are: how many mg of suboxone are you taking, and for how many days or weeks have you been using suboxone regularly? So my results may differ slightly, or greatly, from your own. Just from my experience on 4 mg of suboxone after just a one day dose... i know that i can get a "full" effect from oxycodone when waiting 12 hours after my sub dose. I can get close to the full effect at 10 hours after the sub. And i experienced a mild, probably half effect when only waiting 9 hours after the suboxone. Keep in mind, that's after just a single suboxone dose. also, those effects are reached only by iv use. any other way isn't going to cut it.

honestly, you're just gonna have to try and see what happens because it varies for everyone(i have a friend who takes a sub every morning, then enjoys 60mg of oxy 3 hours later? go figure) start with the 12 hour wait or longer.

Well I'm trying to figure this out right now. I was prescribed a bottle of promethazine syrup with codeine earlier today. I know suboxone blocks the effects of opiates so I'd figure it wouldn't do anything, but I'm hoping the promethazine by itself will potent the effects of the suboxone. I really hope so.

Buprenorphine is an opioid (narcotic) medication that is similar to morphine, codeine, and heroin. It is prescribed under the names Suboxone and Subutex. Buprenorphine is used to treat narcotic addiction and help with the withdrawal symptoms when one attemps to quit using a narcotic opiate.

Oxycodone by itself does not reduce fever.

Many forms of oxycodone (specifically Percocet/Percodan, Vicodin, or Roxicet) contain a percentage of acetaminophen (a.k.a Tylenol), which is a pain reliever/fever reducer. Together, these two drugs work stronger and the Tylenol can reduce a fever.

Yeah you can just not as much. Its not designed to let you but if u take two you will. If you mix the two you better watch out for that precipitated withdrawal. It will leave you with nowhere to turn. Precipitated withdrawals are way worse than normal withdrawals. Good luck!

Suboxone is a Semi-synthetic chemical called Buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is most commonly used as a maintenance drug for opiate dependent persons.

It is a medication derived from a synthetic poppy material Thebaine.

Buprenorphine is available as a sublingual (under the tongue) film

&SL tablet in 2mg & 8mg doses with .5mg and 2mg naloxone (an opiate antagonist) added to deter IV injection by opiate dependent users through precipitating opiate withdrawal or 'dope sickness'.

A partial mu-agonist (which means the drug only partially occupies the Mu-opiate receptors) will not be nearly as an effective painkiller as a full Mu-agonist such as Hydromorphone and Oxymorphone (very powerful Morphine derivatives for severe or terminal pain, as well as some of the most potent human metabolites of hydrocodone and oxycodone which contribute to an extent the analgesia, euphoria, miosis, and physical dependency of them.)

However, while not a typically dispensed pain alleviation prescription, When not being used to treat opiate dependency patients it is prescribed in immensely smaller doses than those for dependents in a transdermal patch called BuTrans.

Not readily so, like with tablets. The answer is no. However, it is possible and somewhat likely that some clever addict will figure out a simple process for turning the film back into powder. Yes, a non opiate dependent person can get reasonably loaded off subs. Trust me, I've witnessed friends puke, nod out and pupils pinned off a low 2 mg dose.

Actually the answer is YES. place a film on a hard surface like a spoon. drop about 4 drops of water on the film (just enough water to cover the film). let it dissolve and stir it with something small and pointy. Get a straw and cut it to about 3 inches length.. Sniff the liquid and tilt your head back to allow the liquid to run into your sinus.. It still takes anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes... Enjoy!
