YES, it is much quicker and takes less to suffice the withdrawals... however, it also wears off alot quicker, not to mention the taste (wow)..

Suboxone does not show up in the average 5 or 7 panel test. It is not an opiate like heroin or oxy contin. Whoever is testing you would have to ruun a test specifically testing for suboxone for it to come up.

Usually the way you assume Suboxone, is you take your Suboxone tablet and place it correctly under your tongue.. this way your veins under your tongue will absorb the Buprenorphine directly into your bloodstream. You should start feeling relief and the effects within about 30-60 minutes.

It probably depends on your usage habits. For instance, you likely would not get sick if you were to take 1 or 2 10mg hydrocodone after a dentist's appointment and then take suboxone a week later. However, since opioids can accumulate in your body, if you have had a steady habit for a long while it will take longer for them to purge out of your system.

No it does not show up. Was on suboxone when going for a 5 panel urine test. Nothing showed. I did the research online just as you are....it's a synthetic form, blah blah blah. Basically you have nothing to worry about whatsoever. especially so if it's prescribed for you.

It depends on a number of different factors - the patient's tolerance to the opiate, the strength of the opiate taken, how long it's been used, how big the patient is, etc. Since each person is different, the amount of Suboxone that will be effective to get through it will be different for each person as well.

If you're actually taking a prescription drug, it's actually easier to do an incremental dosage reduction over time. Having been dependent on opiates for many years, and having had to increase and decrease my dosages many times over that period (10 years), I've used incremental dose reduction many times to lower my dosages. Usually it takes about 4-6 weeks depending on the drug. Since I use the strongest dosages of strongest opiates, it takes a bit longer for me than it might for someone using less for a shorter amount of time.

In incremental dose reduction, what you do is cut the pill in half or in quarters. First try taking half your normal prescribed dose, and see how you deal with the withdrawals. If it's too strong, then start with only a 1/4 reduction in dosage. Take it for a week, then drop another 1/4. If the withdrawals are too strong still, then stay at 1/4 dose reduction for another week, then try again. When you can tolerate the withdrawal, then reduce by another 1/4, and repeat the weekly process. Keep doing it until you're completely off of the drug.

Since I'm retired on disability, I have the luxury of being able to sedate myself heavily and remain in bed when dealing with large dosage reductions and withdrawals. Since most people don't have that available to them, it might take longer or shorter amount of time to reduce the drug to the point you can stop taking it.

It also helps to take an OTC med to compensate and ease the withdrawal pain. Two of my favorites are Tylenol Rapid Release Gel-tabs, and Bayer Back and Body Aspirin. I also use them frequently when I don't fell like using any Percocet for breakthrough pain. Bayer works better for withdrawal pain though.

It usually takes 20 minutes to a half hour for medicine to work, but some medicine takes more time then others. Tramadol, for example, can take 50-55 minutes to really get rolling in the blood stream, but will usually last six hours.

Suboxone takes about 72 hours to leave your system. However, Suboxone does not show up as an opiate on a drug test, so I wouldn't worry about it anyway. They have to specifically test for it, and my doctor says they hardly ever do.

I was on 3 to 4 8mg. subutex for about 5 years. I tapered down quite slowly so the wds wouldn't be so bad. Well, for me it was one of the worst kicks I ever had. Right up there with Methadone. I was 60 years old when I finally kicked them, so it probably was worse cause of being older. But it was bad. It took me about 3 months to start feeling a little normal. The first few days were the worst cause of the horrible leg aches. My doctor finally gave me some Valium which really helped calm me down. Sorry to tell you the bad news, but everybody's different.

Hate to agree with the above statement, but it is the worst thing to kick, by far! But it can be done if you really want it and have good support and attend a great NA group, daily when you first kick esp! Good luck to all this helps! If you can avoid Buprenorphine ( the active ingredient in Suboxone & Subutex) or Methadone treatment, Please, please save yourself from the misery that will ultimately follow when you have to quit.! The best thing to do is find an in-patient rehab that will detox you with a benzo so that you can detox comfortably! And discover the true root of your addiction, none of us are addicts just cause we like to get high, we;re trying to forget something or not deal with our own reality. That's why some people can go to a party, do a ton of coke or whatever, but never touch it again.

But yet there are us addicts that we get hooked the very 1st snort, hit, bang, whatever. I heard the best thing at the very first NA meeting I went to that has made more sense than anything I've ever heard in my life "God looks after children and fools, well drug addicts are fools and the most sad people you could ever really know, if they could just get clean so you could know the real person hidden under those drugs."Hope this helps somebody! I tried after 24 hrs and went through the worst withdrawal of my life. It is important that you should wait 36hrs after taking methadone to use suboxone. However I did not have the same affect the other way around i.e. taking methadone after being on suboxone

It's been around since the '80s. I'm not sure what year, exactly.

suboxone has a long halflife about 23hours. day one you will feel no other opiates. day two you will feel them kick in then the suboxone stopping the opiate from working. day three you can begin to feel the full effect of other opiates. be careful not to take more trying to feel the other opiates. eventhough suboxone has naloxone in it, you can still overdose.

you can take them at the same time. klonopin is not an opiate so it won't effect the suboxone. some doctors tell you not to mix suboxone with downers, but i've done it a million times and its fine.

Unfortunately, there is no generic for Suboxone. I read something online that a generic is being "worked on" but who knows how reliable that information is. Keep checking with your pharmacy/pharmacist. They may be able to give you more information.

If you mean how long after taking suboxone can you get high from other drugs like lortab and whatever else then I would wait 3 days. Chances are if you're taking suboxone its because you withdrawal so it will probably be hard to go 3 days with nothing. But regardless, you will not get high

Suboxone has a partial opiate in it. Therefore you are still on opiates.

I've been on suboxone for a good 4 years and on oxy's and all the other good stuff that comes with it for at least 6 yrs. General substance abuse has been part of my life for 15 yrs. It's really not at all so much about physical effects coming off suboxone as it is about the mental adjustments you have to make. Every time I was faced with society and it's expectations I popped a pill to deal with whatever demands. You have to be willing to adjust without anything else replacing that need. Give yourself 5 days where you can reflect on your life and have no forced responsibilities or human interaction. I found it helpful to stay as active as possible (not the first day) but the second, third, etc until your mind is over wanting to reach for some sort of substance to deal with life. Physical effects really are very mild, don't listen to stories about how it's just like coming off hardcore opiates! NOWHERE NEAR IT! The only thing I could feel was constant chills. For the first time in 10 years people don't walk into my apt thinking it's an ice box =) I admit the mental urge is the tricky part. You really have to come to terms that all this rubbish is ruining your body, life and relationships....EVEN SUBOXONE! I wish everyone Good Luck with getting away from it all. Know that after the first couple of days it starts to get easier every day. Another Benefit...having smoked at least a pack of cigs a day while on suboxone, 4 days after I stopped taking them I couldn't stand the taste of cigs anymore.

From experience I have taken both together. But I am no doctor so you might want to check that out before trying. But methadone blocks the full effects of Oxycontin so it's not fun to take together. If you are trying to get off oxy with the methadone I would say wait about 5 or 6 hours. again i am no doctor so ask one before doing this.

Weed, although I've read in certain cases, people claim they cannot feel the effects of weed after taking suboxone. This has never been the case for me, but everyone reacts differently. In my experience, that's about it without risking serious health complications.

According to Suboxone.com (see Related Link below), "certain antidepressants" can interact badly with Suboxone/Subutex. And which antidepressants interact badly may possibly vary from person to person.

But certainly many antidepressants, for the majority of people, are fine. I'm actually taking three different antidepressants, along with Suboxone: Wellbutrin, Lexapro and Remeron.

yes you can, allthough you will not get any buzz what so ever from the vicodin, so its really a waste of the v's. the vicodin will still have the pain killig effect though. best to wait 24 hours at least after taking the suboxone before you take the v's.

my son has end stage kidney failure and he was prescribed methadone and baclofen. after taking 4 doses of baclofen he stated having seizures and muscle spacicisity. He is still in the hospital with possible brain damage. There is another case in New York state where a man sued and won $800,000.00 from a bad reaction to the same thing of off label use. Be careful.

i am going for surgury and am on suboxone. how long before surgury do i need to stop taking it if at all?
