Superstition developed over the years due to a string of events. This means there is no one person who created it.

Back in the days mirrors were rare, expensive and treated with care. Breaking one would certainly have been considered unlucky. Apart from that it was just another example of the weird tradition of trying to scare people into doing certain things.

The history of breaking mirrors resulting in bad luck comes from the idea that it typically used to cost 7 years' wages for the average person to buy a mirror (being that it was made from glass with real silver on the back). As time went by, the prices of mirrors dropped dramatically, but the superstition stuck.

That's really the case with most superstitions: they began as an observation about the way things used to be, and then became rule which no longer applies.

But breaking mirrors still isn't advised: those glass shards are sharp!

To hear a ringing in your ears was once thought to warn of the imminent death of a friend or family member, however, it is said you can turn the sound to your advantage by asking asking a friend to pick a letter at random. The letter was said to be the initial of your future spouse.

A tingling of your ears is interpreted as someone talking about you. The right ear means they are saying good things, the left means they are gossiping about you.

Yes, finding a four leafed clover is said to be good luck.

They stopped believing when they came to realise that there were no witches, that nobody can perform 'magic' or cast 'curses' upon others. People were beginning to understand science a lot more.

You may possibly have Athelete's Foot, or contact dermatitis from the detergent your socks are washed in, or, if they are colored, the dye in the socks. Also, always wash new socks before wearing them. If you wear sneakers with rubber soles, you may have a latex allergy. This is also a slight chance of parasites if you have been wading in water near a sewage outlet.

Keeping all this in mind, keep feet clean and dry, then watch and see. If it worsens or no improvement in 3-5 days, DOCTOR.

If you have itchy feet, it also may be from your socks/carpeting. If you tend to wear socks often, you might have itchy feet. Socks are very fuzzy and they have a lot of cotton. When you remove your socks (and have been wearing them for long time), there are small plots of cotton stuck in the creases of your feet. It may sound weird, but try to get rid of those plots by picking cotton off your feet. That lets air get into the creases of your feet. When the creases are blocked of air, it easily becomes hot and sweaty and begins to itch. Also, for carpeting, you might have dirty carpeting. Try vacuuming your carpet that way you walk on clean floor. WEAR CLEAN SOCKS!

This urban legend amazes me through the fact that by the summer of 2004 when I first came to realize a strange coincidence via a series of legal troubles i had gotten into in my junior year of high school, in my small northern town of Rogers City, MI. Three consistent occasions, to be exact, all resulting in charges I indeed had in my possession a yellow Bic lighter. Naturally it being a small town, I spread the word. Now, 2014 Ive heard that this ridiculous notion has spread as far as California. If you look for things hard enough, it becomes easy to synchronize events with objects, songs, places, etc. ITS ONLY BAD LUCK, IF YOU BELIEVE ITS BAD LUCK. I deeply regret planting this seed as over time I realized how ridiculous it was, and I do apologize. I was young and dumb, and wanted something to point my finger at for my mistakes. So Buy Yellow Bic Lighters! Its okay, I promise!

Chalk it up to popular superstition, in the old medical center- and one deals with scrupulous accuracy with numbers in hospitals ( like 300 Mg of Saving Grace!) There was no l3th floor, the numbers on the indicators jumped from l2-l4. on the other hand, in Philadelphia, colonial capital, l3 is a Lucky Number- There were l3 stars in the original Flag, l3 states- revolution was l776- note this 7 plus 6= l3 ! (the same number stunt works with Cologne-associated 4/7/ll 4 +7=ll They allegedly had a police damage control squad humorously numbered ( Squad 47ll!) for toxic chemical clean-ups etc. get the obvious pun.

A man will visit if you drop a knife, a woman if it's a fork or a child if its a spoon. I think they will be unexpected visitors..

Maybe its true someone else should pick it up if it's a knife, there should always be a remedy.

Superstitions date back to the earliest humans of prehistory. They are the attempts of pre-scientific cultures to explain the mysteries of nature and circumstances.

There is a saying that when you get "goose bumps" someone is walking over your grave.

A sudden inexplicable chill has been thought to mean a spirit is in the room (area) with you.

There are some that say a "chill" means someone is saying "bad things" about you.

You then have clean clothes to start the new year.

Probably because it causes all the men, who haven't seen any women for months, to go after her, and that's not what you want as a captain.

I've been seeing this number for several years. It often shows itself at times of great peace in my life and times of great distress.

All I can say is that I feel comfort from seeing it. It makes me feel as though I am special in some way in that 3 is a divine number and also 333 is also considered divine. Therefore I feel that there is a good chance there is a divine reason I am seeing this number.

Perhaps a link from God. A sign from God. I believe you should embrace the number and pay particular attention to what you are doing when you see this number. It may be God telling you something important.

In summary, I do not feel it is a coincidence you are seeing this number on a regular basis. Listen to your heart and "gut" feeling about this. How do you feel when you see the number? What are you doing? What is going on in your life?

As for me I consider both myself and you to be blessed in someway with the number 333 appearing regularly in our lives.
