Most people thinks it's nothin but after ages of looking for them, they are actually HIDDEN treasures.

Some characters are marked as essential, and can't be killed. Sometimes this essential 'flag' is removed as part of a quest, like one where you are specifically told to kill them. But for some they are never removed, and are there to stop people making the game unplayable by killing plot-relevant characters.

You need to complete the 'Walking Nightmares' and then the 'Kill Giants' quest for Dawnstar. Then you will need to help three Dawnstar residents to become Thane. It is the only house in the Hearthfire DLC where you are required to become a Thane before you can purchase it.

On Windows 7 (and probably Vista), go to Documents/My Games/Skyrim

On Windows XP go to My Documents/My Games/Skyrim

in that folder there should be a file called skyrim.ini

Open that file using notepad and search for the heading "[General]" (without quotes)

Between that heading and the next there should be the option:

bDisableAllGore=0

if it's there and set to 0, change it to a 1

There's a bug that sometimes stops the Blood on the Ice quest from triggering properly. This is the only way you can get Hjerim in Windhelm, if you support the Legion during the civil war plotline.

What happens is, after entering and leaving the city a few times, a murder scene is supposed to happen. If this scene tries to play during the last civil war battle, then Blood on the Ice is now bugged and can't continue. You'll have to wait for a patch, not just one that stops it happening to new players, but one that fixes it if it has happened already.

I don't think that the plot is similar but I have noticed that the mountain High Hrothgar in skyrim appears to be named after the Dwarven king Hrothgar from the Inheritance series. That's all I've come across so far.

You can only access Bthardamz if you've started Peryite's daedric quest, issued to you if you visit his shrine.

There are many puzzle doors in Skyrim that require a specific claw with a sequence of animals shown on the claw in order to unlock the door.

There are also many pillar puzzles with rotating animals. For these puzzles, you will always find the clues nearby that show you which animals should be facing outward on the pillars.

7. The Enlightenment (Wilayat)

The Mystic is finally admitted in the "enlightened" beings in the court of Divine and is required to teach others what he has learnt in his stages of Mysticism.
