At the first ultrasound, the doctor found 7 heartbeats, but Jon and Kate were against reduction and they kept them. On Chrsitmas Eve of 2003, Kate bled internally, but lost only one baby. After that, she was hospitilized for ten weeks, and in May, the sextuplets were born. All of the babies were healthy and released by the end of July.
