The new name 'Brisingr' is from the ancient language used in the series and means fire.

Brisingr is the name of Eragon's new sword, the main problem in the end of book three was that Eragon couldn't fight Murtagh without a sword, connection maybe? If you are talking about other than that, Eragon has to finish his trainig with Oromis in order to be as strong as Murtagh, or so he thinks. They find the raz'ac and their parents and kill all except one. That's when Eragon forces Saphira to leave with Roran and Katrina while he finds the last one. He eventually finds it and kills it.

The overall setting is Alagaësia. Alagaësia is broken down into smaller areas such as the Spine, Hadarac Desert, Teirm, Carvahall, Helgrind, Farthen Dûr, Surda, and several others. It is a fictional world, but the time is similar to our middle ages. There is no electricity, people live in villages, food is grown or hunted, and travel is mainly on foot or by horse back.
