Why would you want to kill toads, they eat bugs. How much damage can they do to your garden?
The Colorado River Toad, Bufo alvarius, is the toad whose poison is most commonly used as an intoxicant (though the practice of using any toad venom for this purpose is rare) . Several other species of toad, such as Bufo marinus, contain one of the same active chemicals, bufotenin. Nevertheless, the toad is not usually licked. Rather, the poison is "milked" from the venom gland and then vaporized. It should be noted that this procedure is very dangerous and should not be attempted. Additionally, the experience often has severe physical side effects.

What does a sonoran desert toad eat?
Mostly large crickets, but also a pinky or a hopper mouse every once and a while

Yes, but in the wild, this would make it difficult, if not impossible to escape.

Yes, a toad has lungs. When it is a tadpole, it has gills. It develops lungs and hopps onto the land.
What were the problems caused by cane toad?
Cane toads have become an ecological disaster in Australia, and other places to which they have been introduced.
They eat the native wildlife, but have no natural predators. Cane toads eat native frog species, as well as other small birds and mammals, and they compete directly with native frogs and other species for food. Many native frog species are at risk of extinction as a result of the cane toad population.
The only animals that have worked out how to eat them safely are crows, which flip the toads over and eat the soft underbelly, where there are no poison glands. Northern quolls have suffered huge population losses because habitat loss and the resultant drop in food sources has driven them to try to eat the cane toad, which has, of course, poisoned these mammals. Any native animal that normally eats frogs will be poisoned by the cane toad.
Cane toads are also continuing to spread south. They are remarkably adaptable creatures, and seem to be becoming hardier, adapting to a wide variety of habitats and climate conditions. They also breed prolifically, and wherever they populate, they push out the native species.
Can you keep other breeds with fire belly toads?
I wouldn't. Its not safe...
If they're toads you want to mix with the fire belly then make sure they are the same size..keep in mind that if they are different sizes..they can get REALLY mad because either toad would be on the others "property" and if that happens they will kill each other.
I wouldn't get into the fire belly toad/frog issue..just DONT mix them.
Hope I helped! :)
Yes they can. I've seen many toads drown in buckets and fountains or ornamental ponds when they could not escape from water that was too deep, mostly during times of drought when they're looking for a drink or dead bugs. I've also had to rescue a few from my own goldfish pond before they drowned. They just tread water until exhaustion makes them drown. The tip-off is usually the smell.
