Why does a ficus tree wither and die after being taken care of correctly?
Ficus trees are very finicky... if you move them too much, they can die just from being moved. Usually they come back if you leave them still for a while, but some people move them around the room, and they usually react badly to that. Sounds crazy, maybe, but I've seen it happen with a lot of ficus trees.
the tree is over 15 years old. 10 years ago, a large piece fell off after a snow storem. It still flowers. However, there are many branches that look dead.
Why do you need trees to survive?
Trees are needed for survival as they produce oxygen, which every animal - save for sea life - requires for inhalation. Animals and humans, in turn, release carbon-dioxide which is what the trees 'breathe' and require for survival. Think of it as a trade.
Why are some Canary Palms short and fat and others tall and not so chubby?
Canary Island Palms are a slow growing plant that can be trimmed in a variety of ways. When you see those short, fat little palms, it means that it's a young plant that hasn't really grown much of it's trunk in yet. Though it may appear to have a very robust trunk, you're really just seeing the results of a fine trimming job. The leaves on the bottom and sides are cut away, leaving just the ones on top, resulting in the pineapple look. These plants grow for many, many years and can reach heights of around fifty feet, but most tend to grow up in the vicinity of 25-30 feet high. Of course, the trunk at this point is well grown in, giving the tree that slender appearance.
Yes, bagworms should be killed since this larval stage of case moths (Psychidae family) can defoliate trees and the chrysalis and the moth stages can cut off internal arboreal fluid circulations with the delicate-looking, super-strong thread by which pupae and adults hang from twigs. It is an unfortunate case of the adult living just long enough to mate and not cause trouble other than leaving behind many eggs that will turn into voracious caterpillars.
Any stage in the lepidopteran in question's life cycle may be controlled by manual or mechanical removal while natural enemies include entomopathogenic bacteria and nematodes, ichneumonid parasitoid wasps, parasitic wasps, sparrows and white-footed mice and treatments focus upon the egg and larval stages before mid-summer.
Chemical remove tree roots in drainpipe?
Copper Sulfate does that job fairly well. We use a bottle each month to keep our weeping willow out of our system. If we miss a month, you see it!
Is there any chance of a braided Azalea tree to come back alive after the leaves have fallen off?
As I recall, azalea is a general name for deciduous rhododendrons. So I would expect the leaves to fall off every year, and for the shrub to regrow them.
Check the planting guide as to what exposure to sunshine and cold it does best in.
What are some sweetgum diseases?
Trunk canker, leaf spot, root knot -- but basically, the natural species thrives with little trouble. Which makes for two sorts of troubles. The natural species has two characteristics that make it abundant; and horticultural varieties are rife with unnatural diseases as usual. Sweetgum makes billions of seed balls which litter and lump the ground, and it also sprouts widely from its roots making colonies. That is how it thrives. The varieties that are sterile or deeply colored or columnar etc. are also susceptible to, or at least more obviously display, diseases such as leaf spot. If there is one on your property, do not plan much beneath it or even near to it, because the balls will bury the ground. They can grow over one hundred feet tall, and lose large branches and whole tops in storms as they do. Being a bottom-lands species, the roots are very dense, close to the surface, very extensive, and powerful enough to penetrate any paving or even foundation walls. Very fast growing, potentially magnificent, but to be respected for what it is and enjoyed more easily where it naturally grows.

What is the connection between organisms in a stream and the dissolved oxygen level?
Organisms in streams need oxygen to live when lacking dissolved oxygen it will kill these organisms. edit: unless the organisms in the stream are photosynthetic, in which case they will increase the oxygen levels. however, by far, most organisms in a stream are not photosynthetic and oxygenation occurs solely through aeration and surface area dissolving from the air. so, to answer the question, organisms (most organisms which aren't plant-based photosynthetic organisms) decrease the amount of oxygen in a stream. edit: a flowing stream has turbulence which helps aerate the water, increasing dissolved oxygen. In contrast, stagnant water tends to be low in dissolved oxygen, except near the surface. Multicellular animals (like fish) need a good supply of dissolved oxygen to thrive.
How do you cut off a tree branch?
Get a trimmer or a pole saw depending on how high it is. If it is a thick branch, I suggest using a pole saw because it makes it that much easier to cut.
You'd be better off putting in a drain.
