There are a few reasons why unicorns are not real. First, the horn on their head would hit low hanging objects like tree limbs, which at the speeds they would be able to run, would likely knock them down and break their neck or legs. Second, having only one horn means that if it is broken somehow, then the unicorn would have no way to defend itself. Lastly, unicorns would not be bale to hide from predators or blend in with their surroundings since the horn would reveal where they are.

Since unicorns don't actually exist, they live as long as the author writing the story wants them to. For some, they have about the same lifespan as an ordinary horse while in other writings they may have lifespans of centuries or may even be immortal.

Unicorns may live at the end of a rainbow if they choose but that's usually leprechauns.

The historical figure Genghis Khan documented that he called off the invasion of India due to witnessing 'terrible and brutal one-horned beasts ridden by man', which today we understand were War Rhinos, similar to War Elephants. They were also mentioned by an Ancient Greek called Ctesias.
The documents were misinterpreted, hence the myth of unicorns was born. When in reality, they were actually Indian Rhinos.

I have read several things on the enemies of Unicorns, a few that have been suggested are lions (African and Mountain Lions in particular), Dragons, Pegasus, Nightmares, and Humans. Most commonly sited as the enemy of the Unicorn is the Lion.

Answer 2 : unicorns are actually more related to goats because the have their hooves that look like goat feet and they have goat beards. unicorns were actually a mistake. a farmer bred a horse and a goat together. same horse body, a few goat features, but the horn was the mistaken part.
